Hepatitis B | Hepatitis Awareness Challenge
Hello Everyone
This is @max-pro from #Bangladesh
Assalamu Alaikum Steemian friends, I hope you are all well. By the grace of Allah, I am also well. Today I have come to participate in a wonderful contest of this community moderator @ahsansharif. The topic of this contest is Hepatitis B. So here I will answer a few questions and discuss in detail.
As per my general knowledge, Hepatitis B is a viral infection that attacks the liver. It is mainly spread through blood and other body fluids or unprotected sexual contact. So it is considered to be a very serious disease.
Effects on the liver
Infection causes inflammation in the liver.
If it persists for a long time, it can lead to liver cirrhosis or liver cancer.
Sometimes, the liver is slowly damaged even though there are no symptoms.
Hepatitis B infection can be acute or chronic. Its symptoms vary depending on the type of infection. So, the symptoms of acute hepatitis B are mentioned below.

- Fever, fatigue or weakness, loss of appetite, vomiting or nausea, stomach pain, yellowing of the skin, itching of the skin, and dark yellow urine.
Symptoms of chronic hepatitis B
- Feeling tired for a long time, sudden weight loss, mild pain in the right side of the abdomen, swollen abdomen, swollen hands and feet, bleeding or bruising easily.
There are many common ways of contracting hepatitis B. There are many such patients in our neighborhood, but none in my family. One of the main ways of spreading hepatitis B is through the blood or other body fluids of an infected person. If a person comes into contact with infected blood or the virus enters the body through used needles and blades, he can be infected. The risk of infection increases especially if there is no care during unsafe injections, dental treatment or using blades.

If someone receives blood containing the hepatitis B virus, the chances of infection are very high. Therefore, it is essential to get tested before receiving blood.
If someone in the same household is infected, there is a risk of infection if they share personal items such as toothbrushes, nail clippers, or razors. The virus can also be spread through contact with wounds or blood of an infected person.
Unprotected sex is another major cause of hepatitis B infection. The virus can enter the body of another person through the semen or sexual fluids of an infected person. Therefore, it is very important to practice safe sex practices.
It is possible to easily stay free from this disease by taking proper preventive measures. Below are some important ways to prevent hepatitis B.
The most effective way to prevent hepatitis B is to get vaccinated. Newborns should be vaccinated soon after birth because it builds immunity against the virus in the future.
Another important way to prevent hepatitis B is to follow personal hygiene rules. Never share toothbrushes, razors, nail clippers, or needles or syringes with others.
Hepatitis B can be transmitted through sexual intercourse. Therefore, it is very important to use protective measures such as condoms.
Hepatitis B is often spread through inadvertently receiving infected blood. Therefore, it is essential to get your blood tested before receiving it. It is safe to receive blood that has been tested only from a trusted blood bank or hospital.
Finally, I would like to say that although Hepatitis B is a serious infection, it is possible to prevent it if we are aware of it at the right time. We can stay free from the infection of this virus by getting vaccinated, receiving safe blood, following hygiene rules, and living a careful lifestyle.
