What I know about diseases of the pancreas?

Diseases that affects the pancreas are often serious and may be life-threatening. I strongly believe it should be managed by trained medical professionals. I can't really trust local herbs with this one. In many cases the diseases of the pancreas are hereditary.
An alcoholic who drinks a lot of alcohol can also suffer from diseases of the pancreas due to a damaged pancreas.
Due to its hidden position in the abdominal cavity, it is often very tricky to diagnose pancreas-related illnesses.

Do you or someone in your family have an issue with your pancreas?

The standard answer is no, but who knows? With a lot of cultural taboos surrounding the dead and the financial cost of an autopsy, we really do one, and so some relatives may die of diseases of the pancreas, and I will not know of it.

How do we maintain our pancreas and avoid disease?

I can keep my pancreas healthy by avoiding habits that damage the pancreas like getting drenched in alcohol. Monitoring the drugs we take when treating other health conditions because strong drugs can affect our pancreas.
Knowing our medical history will help a person know that diseases of the pancreas run in their family giving the oppotunity to take preventive measures.
