What do you understand by bloating?

Bloating to my understanding, is the condition where my belly feels full and tight, often due to gas. There are sometimes my stomach (belly) feels uncomfortable it would either look full, tight, or swollen which often happens due to excess accumulation of gas in the fluid retention of the gastrointestinal tract.

Based on the symptoms of bloating it is very easy for one to identify bloating the common symptoms of bloating are;

  • Excessive burping or gas
  • Feeling of tightness or heaviness
  • A visibly distended abdomen
  • Abdominal discomfort and others.

Write some causes of bloating.

Some of the causes of bloating are;

  • Dietary Factors: When a person consumes foods that produce excess gas like for example food such as carbonated drinks, broccoli, and beans, etc he or she is likely to experience bloating.

  • Swallowing air: It is not good for us to be eating too quickly (fast) or chewing gum, because by doing so it can cause us to have bloating.

  • Digestive Issues: Conditions such as irritable bowel syndrome lactose intolerance or constipation can cause bloating.

  • Food intolerances: Diary gluten and other sensitivities can cause bloating

  • Hormonal Changes: A lot of women do experience bloating during menstruation

The best thing that we can do if bloating persists or it is accompanied by severe symptoms like weight loss, change in bowel habits, or significant pain, is advisable we see a doctor for immediate response and treatment.


Give some home remedies to cure bloating.

Here I have shared some home remedies to cure bloating;

  • Herbal Teas: Peppermint, Ginger, and Chamomile teas, help to relax the digestive muscles and alleviate gas, reducing inflammation and gas buildup.

  • Feenel Seeds: By chewing of at least 1 teaspoon of fennel seeds after eating meals can help to reduce bloating and gas.

  • Warm Lemon Water: Drinking warm water with lemon in the morning can help to stimulate digestion and prevent bloating.

  • Stay Hydrated: Drinking plenty of water to support digestion and prevent constipation, which can make bloating worsen can help reduce it.

  • Avoid Triggers: Reduce the intake of gas-producing foods like broccoli, beans, onions, and carbonated drinks. Also eating smaller meals can help to reduce bloating.

I experienced the same condition when I was using coach's medications. The bloating was induced by some antibiotics.
