RE: Steemit Engagement Challenge / S13W2 - "Protect your Mental Health from Social media Dangers"

in Healthy Steemlast year

Thank you for writing this post!

As someone who has been an active member of Steemit since July 2016, I feel it's crucial to shed light on the platform's darker side, contrary to the utopian image it often projects. Steemit, like many other social media platforms, isn't immune to toxicity. In fact, my years of experience on the platform have given me a unique insight into its dynamics.
While Steemit initially garnered attention for its innovative approach to content creation and curation, it has, over time, become a breeding ground for toxic behaviour. Trolls, harassment, and cyberbullying are sadly as prevalent here as on any other mainstream platform. The promise of decentralized, community-driven content creation has, in some cases, been overshadowed by negativity.
Having observed Steemit evolve over the years, I can attest that the platform's toxicity isn't just limited to disagreements and debates. It often escalates into personal attacks, making it a challenging space for genuine creators and contributors. The anonymity afforded by the platform sometimes emboldens individuals to engage in behaviour they might otherwise refrain from in face-to-face interaction.

While my journey on Steemit has been marked by both highs and lows, it's important to approach the platform with a critical mindset.

Feel free to get in touch!

Thank you so much for a nice opinion
People should learn how to interact with their fellow human and also families should spend quality time together and care for each and everyone of their members as this could help reduce the excessive use of social media

Thank you for replying!
I haven't seen my parents and siblings for almost ten years but I keep in touch with them. I also understand what you mean.

Unfortunately, there are no interactions on this platform. As you can seen from this post, the Steemit team did not even leave a reply to any comment.

Have a nice day!
