"Eyes Allergy ".
Greetings dear friend, it is my delight to join this amazing contest. My special thanks goes @afzalqamar for organising this contest. If you want to enjoy my opinion about eye allergy please read down.
In medical terminology, eyes allergic is known as Allergic conjunctivitis, this medical condition often occurs when an individual's conjunctiva is inflamed. It is also referred to a case where by the thin membrane which is covering the white part of the eyes is inflamed due to allergen. Here in my area, we are frequently expose to allergen like dust, pet dander, pollen, smoke, molds and some chemicals.
The patient with eye allergy experiences different symptoms which include eye itching, watery discharge together with redness and swelling. If a person experience the above symptoms, It is advisable for him or her contact an ophthalmologist who would prescribe proper medication and anyone with serious cases need to take medication as prescribed by the doctors.
My answer is Yes. Eye allergy is a common disease disorder for all human. I have experienced eye allergy and also witnessed it on different people around me.
My eyes allergy started after visiting a saloon to retouch my hair which during washing process, shampoo water drained into my eyes. I started having some irritation but I overlooked it. By night, I couldn't sleep, I had lots of discomfort, itching and watery discharge. I made the condition to be severe by rubbing my eyes due to the discomfort.
My parents applied cold compress and other First aid but to no avail. We then went to an ophthalmologist doctor. I explained the scenario to him. His diagnosis was allergy conjunctivitis, he then explained more that I'm reacting to the shampoo's ingredients called sulfates.
All he did was to flush my eye with a saline solution and prescribe so medication for me to be taking. Just after few days, it turned a story of yesterday. From my little experience, the worse things to do when experiencing eye allergy is rubbing your eye, it increases the discomfort instead.
Let me start by saying that I don't believe that we can easily cure allergy totally because after treatment the same individual can still be expose to the same danger.
To manage eyes allergies, I believe that it depends on the severity of the condition. If it is mild one the patient can apply cold compress, he or she should use a clean cloth and damp the eye to reduce itching.
After the first aid treatment, we can assess over the counter drug such antihistamine drops alongside with oral antihistamine medications for the patient.
Proper hygiene should be maintained in our surroundings and this will help in the reduction of much episode. In most serious or severe cases, it is advisable for a victim of eye allergy to seek proper medical attention, possibly meet an optometrist or ophthalmologist for proper diagnosis and treatment. Early detection and treatment of eye allergy help in reduction complications. BEWARNED.
I would like to invite @jyoti-thelight, @pandora2010, @okere-blessing and @kouba01 to share their entry in this contest.
