"Eye Allergy"

Allergy is when someone's body system reacts to a particular thing that typically does not affect another person. Eyes allergy occurs to someone when their eyes react to something that irritates them. When this occurs, the eyes normally produce histamine, a substance that will naturally fight the allergen. During this period, the eyelid will become swollen, itchy, and teary at the same time.
Allergies can be obtained from pets, dusty environments, smoke, perfumes, or even food. The most important thing is to know the allergies your body reacts to, to know how to avoid them because if you cannot avoid the cause of the allergies, it might be more severe leading to significant burning, itching, and sensitivity to light. Sometimes, the eyes can react to allergens that are not in direct contact with them, such as certain foods or even insect stings. It can also be hereditary, especially in a situation where both parents have allergies.
I usually encounter eye allergies during the dry season, and this is because of excess dust in the environment. What I do to prevent this is to always wear shade to avoid direct contact with dust with my eyes especially while traveling or walking along the road.
The first thing to do is to find out the allergies that are sensitive to your body. If necessary, perform a skin or blood test by an allergist to identify the specific allergen. To treat eye allergies effectively, you must avoid or reduce contact with the allergen causing the issue. If you are allergic to pollen, avoid going outside when pollen levels are high, or better still, wear sunglasses to help prevent pollen from entering your eyes. It's the same thing with dust and pets at home; always make sure you do not have contact with those things that trigger the allergies.
Sometimes, there might be a need for you to go see a doctor for a diagnosis and prescription of specific drugs or eye drops for allergies. Artificial tear drops, which help to relieve eye allergies by washing the allergens out from the eyes, decongestants, oral antihistamines, and other eye drops, depending on the doctor's prescription.
