Greeting steemians!
I am Asad, belong from Pakistan, and would like to participate in a wonderful contest organized by @ahsansharif to increase awareness of hepatitis B diseases.
When I come to Know about this disease for the First Time
When I was in my matriculation, my teacher from Federal School had assigned us (the whole class) a project on the topic of infectious diseases. At that time, we studied about hepatitis and its types (A, B & C) so chose to research on Hepatitis B and C, the diseases that I had heard about but knew very little about.

The Beginning of My Studies on Hepatitis B
I started watching YouTube videos and reading through online websites. I learned that Hepatitis is a viral infection collectively, and specifically Hepatitis B is also a viral infection in the liver that causes inflammation in liver. This inflammation leads to serious complications like cirrhosis and liver cancer. This is a hereditary disease that can be transferred from mother to child during birth. Infected Blood is another means of transformation of this disease.
The shocking fact of this disease is its deadly effects which are silent, we can call it a silent killer disease. Obviously, when no symptoms appear for a long time, how can someone know that he has been suffering from this disease? When the symptoms appear, it's too late. The Symptoms of this disease are the following:
Weakness and exhaustion; appetite loss; nausea and vomiting; abdominal discomfort; jaundice (yellowing of the skin and eyes); and dark urine.
Connecting the Dots:
After submitting the project, I started noticing people around me and found out something shocking. Some of the people around me have the same symptoms as this disease. My neighbor Uncle Ali, and My little Cousin, Hunain, have many symptoms related to Hepatitis B. Uncle Ali, is facing fatigue, and weight loss at an increasing rate, while my cousin, Hunain, is facing stomach pain often with all other symptoms. They blamed it on to normal aging process, and due to working all day.

I gathered effort and talked to my Uncle, and my cousin’s parents about this, at first, they did not take it seriously and did not think of any serious diseases. But after some time, when I kept on asking to do tests for diagnosis, they finally agreed.
The Diagnosis
Upon testing, we came to know that My neighbor Uncle Ali, got results with positive chronic Hepatitis B, while my cousin, got a report with negative. My Uncle was shocked and scared but the doctor told him not to worry more, as early detection is no less than a blessing. With care, proper treatment, and lifestyle changes, we can manage the disease and live a healthy life for my uncle.
My Uncle started taking medications (Anti-Viral) and made significant changes to his diet. He also took another step, he vaccinated all his family to protect them from this disease. Today, AlhamduLilah, he is doing well in his healthy life.
Prevention from Hepatitis: Techniques and Measures
- The Need for Vaccination: Hepatitis B vaccine is effective in the prevention of this disease.
- Practice Healthy Eating: Eating an organic diet can also help in prevention.
- Testing: If you find any of its symptoms, you need proper testing, do not wait for long.
Conclusion,
Hepatitis (A, B & C) are all globally spread diseases and a global issue. Together, by spreading awareness, we can overcome this threat. We need to encourage vaccination and testing practices.
I would like to invite my friends @mun-eeb, @suboohi, and @daizy-07, to participate in this wonderful contest.
Kind Regards,
Asad
Thank God your uncle is doing well in his health. What a scare that was.
Sending love and blessings
