The Diary Game Contest #72: Yesterday's Highlights (School, Sports and Banking)

Hello besties, how are you all doing? Trust you had a great day? How's the weather in your side, it's kinda cold over here because it rained heavily during the day. I'm here to participate in the diary game contest and I hope my diary will be worth reading and educative.

Firstly, I want to say a big "THANK YOU" to the organizers of this contest. It has been educative and fun and I hope we all keep that fire burning. Honestly, there's no better way to strengthen bonds than storytelling and by putting out our diaries here for others to read, we educate, pass information and strengthen our bonds as a community. With that being said, let me go into the main deal of the night.

It's a good thing to always have your day planned out and by so doing, you don't go a day without achieving anything. So far, I've learnt that once I wake from sleep, first and most important thing to do is to give thanks to God for a new day, then commit your day into His hands and ask for daily bread. These has kept me going for the longest I can recall, there are days it feels like nothing will work out but at the end, miracle happens. Mind you, I wasn't a fan of prayer before but with constant practice and exposure by family and friends, I became one.

So y'all after saying my morning prayers, I got out of bed and did my morning chores, had my bath and rushed down to school. I wasn't supposed to be in school until 10a.m but I saw a memo on my course group asking us to be in school as early as 8a.m for a class. We were once supposed to have this same class last week by same time but the lecturer came late and apologized for being late and that he doesn't remember accepting to hold the class by 8am. He also added that nothing can ever bring him out from his house by that early hours of the morning.

I had to rush down to school because this particular lecturer gave us a rule that no one enters his class after him so I didn't want to take chances. When I got to school, I only saw three of my course mates even our course representative wasn't in school and the four os us starting debating whether the class will hold or not. While still debating, the lecturer walked in, we were all surprised and the lecturer asked if we were the only ones in school for the class and we said yes. He began his lectures and took attendance though at some point, students started coming but they were not allowed into the class.

After lectures, I headed to our mini stadium to go cheer my department to victory as we were playing against psychology department. Something caught my attention while heading there, I saw a group of people under a tent and there was a loud music from there. I approached them to know what was going on and I was told it's Guaranty Trust Bank that were canvassing for sales and opening an account with them came with lots of gift items. One item there caught my attention, which was power bank. Since I've been struggling to have steady light, power bank is a necessity so not minding the number of bank accounts I have already, I opted to open a new one with them.

I got heartbroken after opening the account and I was handed a ticket to come for the raffle draw on Friday. I actually thought everything will happen that same day but No, I was wrong. I took the ticket and headed to the mini stadium. When I got there, my team were changing into their sports outfit ready to defeat our opponent and soon they were ushered into the pitch to start the game. I'm not actually a football fan but for the love of my department, I had to stay glued till the end of the match. It was a tough one and it ended with my team winning against the other team with 2-0.

After the match, I went back home. There was light when I got home so I charged my phone, had my bath and a little nap. I woke up some hours later, had dinner and went out for strolling. When I came back home, my phone was fully charged, I unplugged it and came on this platform to write.
