I observed that my neighbor doesn't attend church since I came to the compound. Every Sunday if I am going to church I will leave him at home and when I return from church, He will still be at home. So I was wondering why He doesn't attends to church.

On Sunday last week, we went out to a nearby hotel to get Coconut yogurt, when we arrived there, the place was so quiet with cool music playing on the background. So Instead of just buying the yogurt and returning home, we decided to stay Abit longer. Since there was light and He needed to charge His phone.

While we were sitting and drinking the coconut yogurt we bought,, I decided to ask him why He hasn't been going to church. And guess what😳?? I was shocked by His response!

According to Him, He was a dedicated member of the Catholic Church before he stopped going to church. His reason was that,, He caught their parish Rev. Father fornicating with a married woman who happens to be the woman leader of their parish. He said each time He attends church and the Rev. Father is preaching, He usually lose concentration and doesn't believe anything that comes out of the Rev. Father's mouth again.

So He said to Himself that, instead of going to church to listen to a fornicator who claims to be a Rev. Father and act like saints in the presence of the pulpit and fornicates in the secret, He rather stays in His House and have personal fellowship.

So as it stands now,, He has stopped going to church, because He believes that all the preacher's are the same. Though I have been able to convince him, and seen needs on why He needs to go to church, and He has let go of what He saw the Rev. Father doing. He promised to start church this coming Sunday, so I pray and hope that He doesn't change His mind🙏🙏

What I Learned from it

I have learned the importance of personal integrity, especially for leaders.
