Tell your story#16 The last day of my wace (West Africa Examination Council)

in Steem For Ladies6 hours ago

Hello, my fellow STEEMIT; how are you doing? Hope you are doing great.

I am so happy to participate in this amazing contest titled Tell Your Story, and I also want to thank @ruthjoe for bringing this amazing contest.

I am bliss, and I am going to tell my story on the last day of my West African examination council.

I wrote my wace in Adventure International School Abakaliki.

On 5th June 2022, I had my last pepper, and it was mathematics.

Everyone was happy that the last day of our wace had finally come, and at the same time, angry and afraid because of the Almighty Mathematics, as we do call it then.

All of us were still waiting for the pepper to come and still praying for the invigilator to be nice to us.

9 0 o'clock sharp, the invigilator came in; I started breathing hard because I never liked mathematics. The man just said STAND UP, all of you, and handed over all your smartphones; at that time, I knew that we were in trouble.

Our principal came in and called the invigilator outside. I don't know what they discussed, but I know that the invigilator did not agree with our principal. Then our principal said that we should bring 3k for sorting, of which I don't have that amount. People who had the money started bringing out their own; then a friend of mine letter gave me 2k for me to complete my own.

Then we were able to gather 300k, but the invigilator said that the money must be up to 500k, that he needed the money for his wedding ceremony, and asked where are we going to get 200k; we were just asking each other in the hall. And the worst part is that the invigilator was looking very innocent and calm, that we were not expecting such a thing from him. Does he want to use us for his wedding expenses, but we don't have options because we refuse to study our books?

One fair guy was sitting very close to me, and lucky for him, he did not give out his phone. So he was just busy writing something, and before I would even notice that he was with his phone, he was already at number 25.

I started asking him to help me with his answer booklet; the guy just smiled and said I can't remember you being my friend, so I can't give you my answer booklet. I now tell the guy that we are friends from today. He gave me his answers booklet I started copping from his own.

Meanwhile, the other students were still busy pleading with the invigilator to leave them to copy from their phones.

The invigilator's letter said that he didn't even need our money again and that we should write everything we knew, and by that time, we only had 40 minutes remaining, and I was already at the last question.

My classmate started crying, but the man was not even moved by the cry.

When the time for the exam expires, the invigilator just says pen up, and we stop writing.

What I have learned from this story

I learned a lot from this story because I hated mathematics for no reason, and that made me start losing interest in any subject that involves calculation. So the last day that I wrote Wace is a day that I can never forget in my life, and I can not also forget to tell my children, because they need to be serious with their studies without minding the subject. Let me assume that I always read my mathematics; I won't have to wait for a miracle or where to copy before I start writing something.

So finally the result came out, and I did perfectly well, but I was not happy because I knew that the mathematics result was not my effort. But I still thank God that I am not sitting for it again.

I want to finally invite @dave-hanny, @echuku and @vickyson to also join this contest today.
