Is it age, a matter of numbers
Introduction |
---|
Hi ladies, thank you for having me participate in this lovely contest. When I was much younger, I was always liberal to tell people my age whenever I was asked because I never felt anything. I felt beautiful, young and lovely. Even till my early 30s, being in my mid 30s makes me feel a bit like I was older compared to my 20s.
I've asked myself, is it just a feeling or is it that I'm truly ageing? Well, you're welcome to my blog friends, keep reading.
1. Is age a matter of numbers? |
---|
Yes, age is just a number. When I was 30 years old, a company needed a customer service agent and I was recommended by a family friend. The friend told me that the HR manager needed an applicant not older than 28 years old. I looked at myself, I told him, sir, "can I see your HR manager? I just wanted him to see me and guess my age." I said to him. Because I knew he was never going to guess my age right. He would think I was just 20 years old.
He said, "I'd told him, but he insisted on the age." I know you won't reduce your age. That's why I tried to convince him, but he refused to oblige. Okay, I said. One thing I knew deep inside of me, was that one in her 20s wasn't intelligent, smarter or younger than I was.
Another case of age is just number. I saw a lady last week whom I was 10 years older than. I mean, I would run errands for her and even bow to her if she was standing in front of me. How did I know that I was older than her? She was tall and huge, and looked a bit more advanced than I was. I told myself age is just nothing.
You could be young but look older and can also be older but look younger, super-intelligent and smarter than people who are even younger. Needless to feel older, one thing that is important is love yourself, take good care of you and believe in you. You can be older in age but young at heart.
2. Do you think that age should limit us to doing what we like and are passionate about ? |
---|
No, I don't believe that age should limit our passion and love for what we want to do. I saw a lady in 2007 who got married at an early age and had children and couldn't further her education at a higher institution. At 50, she was running a degree when her children were already university graduates. It was her passion to obtain a degree, but she wasn't privileged then, but when opportunity came, she grabbed it, running school activities with children even younger than her children without feeling ashamed.
I bet you, no matter your age, you can always achieve your dream. All you need is your willingness. "When there's a will, there's always a way out." Your age shouldn't stop you from chasing your dreams and passion. Just be willing, try it out and you'll be happy you did.
3. Have you ever been made to feel inferior because of your age? |
---|
No, the only time I was almost feeling bad was the job incident I have stated above. But then, I felt it wasn't my shot as at that time.
4. Are you one of those who don't like to say your age for fear of being judged? |
---|
Nope, I have never hidden my age. I have embraced my age, love myself and also know that one day I'll grow old. I'm beginning to prepare for old age not because I feel old at 37, it's because I feel one day I may never be that very strong, smart and smoothly beautiful any more. Even if I tell people my age, sometimes, people will look at me with disbelief that I look younger than my age.

I have embraced my age and count my blessings. Even when I don't achieve all I should achieve, I am super grateful to God.
5. Does it express a saying or phrase about age |
---|
You can be of age but young at heart, and you can be young but as old as the sun. Age is just a feeling and not who and what you are or can achieve.
