My Best Outfit of the Week - entry by (alysaa)

“Dress the way you want to be addressed”. Many of us are familiar with this expression. Today I'll be sharing my outfit choices, how I style myself and whether makeup boosts my confidence or not. Read on friends!

💃 What are the main things you look for when choosing an outfit for any occasion?

When choosing an outfit, I first consider the occasion I'll be attending, be it a wedding, a corporate event, religious gathering, office or picnic and then I try to dress according to the event. I also endeavor to check the color of the outfit, is it bright and or dark, is it beffiting for the occasion, no one would love to wear a red colored gown to a funeral, or something opposite that would draw undue attention to oneself.

Second, I also check the style, is it something trending? I do not love wearing trendy stuff because it goes out of fashion in a short while, so I choose classic outfits that stand the test of time.

Third, I consider the length of the cloth in wearing, I'm a tall lady and my clothes need to be longer, the regular length will be shorter on me😅

Finally, I consider the fitting, clothes tend to fit me better because I'm slim but I still consider the fitting still, because some clothes are big and needs to be tailored to fit a person, so I make sure my clothes are neither too big not too tight.

💃 Share how you prefer to style it.

I love wearing corporate gowns, shirts and skirts, maybe because throughout my stay in the University, my department encouraged corporate dressing all through the week so I'm kind of used to it even though I've graduated. I love dressing professionally depending on the occasion. In the picture above, I got that outfit together the shirt with a brown design and the wooly brown skirt, I decided to style it with this bag that also has a touch of brown on the hand and it looked perfect, I wore it on Sunday for a Christian meeting and I received lots of compliments.

💃 What accessories do you use to enhance your outfit's overall look?

I love silver jewelry to begin with, all my jewelry are silver or coloured and I have just two gold earrings. In that outfit I decided not to wear a necklace and the earrings i wore were covered by my hair, they were silver tho😅

💃 We would love to know your day-to-day skincare and makeup products that you use to boost your confidence and personality.

So, I'm not really a makeup person, my go to makeup routine is just lipgloss, mascara or eyeliner and a little tint on my scanty eyebrows to make them appear deeper.

💡If you were given a chance to switch wardrobes with a celebrity, who would it be?

Well, I would choose a celebrity named Osas ighodaro here in Nigeria, due to copyright issues I can't post her here, however, she really dresses my style, she wears corporate outfits and lace to fashion events and her style really resonates with mine. She also acted in a movie named Smart Money Woman and in that movie, I would definitely want to switch my wardrobe with hers!
