Each contest has a prize set for it. Most contests have liquid steem prizes or votes or both. In either cases, all of them are some form of earnings. If the prize is a big vote, that turns into some earning when the post pays out. If its liquid steem, that is also great. Either ways, you can earn more if you participate in contests.

Tips to help you do well on contests

• Read and Follow the rules: Each contest must have some rules for participants. You can do well in your entry, but when you do not follow the rules, you may have a bad score. So carefully ready the rules and follow it.

• Be Creative: You can add more value to your work through creativity. Depending on the nature of the contest, you can be creative in many ways. You could do a small art work to go along with a writing contest. You can add humour to your work. You can do some animation with any free apps to include in your entry. Creativity is a thing of the mind, so think of ways to do something special, something that no one will likely do. In this way, you stand to have a higher score.

• ** Be detailed:** Try to give enough information in your entry. If its a writing contest, exhaust all the questions and answer them in a satisfying way. Do not give half information. When you are detailed, the examiner will know that you have complete knowledge of the contest topic. You will likely get a higher score.

• Check other people's entry and try to be better: If others have submitted their work, check what they have done and try to see if something can be done to improve your own. If many people have done better than you according to your personal assesement, then you will have little chance of winning the biggest prizes.

2. Do Crypto Academy fixed courses

If you are up to 1 month on Steemit, you musthave heard about crypto academy. Its a special program that rewards you to learn about cryptocurrencies and do homeworks. Many of us that are not in club5050 are already in the academy. If you are, then you can start working on the fixed beginner courses which are open even as the academy is on break. Its true that there is a 1 score rating for those doing the academy who are in club5050, you can still be rated over 9. So there is still some chance to earn from the academy homeworks even though you are not in the club. So this can be another opportunity to increase your earnings as you work hard to balance your account.

3. Join SteemAlive Projects

You can still increase your earnings by getting more support from SteemAlive community. We have losts of projects going on in the community and you can support these projects. We will support those that help the community in one way or the other. Active members help the community grow. We look at them as caregivers - ofcourse caregivers need care. So help the community grow in any way you can. As a fully promotion community, you can join the Steem Road show and help us recruit new users. We recently announce SEL. As you work hard for the community, we also encourage you to make 1 post at least in a day. Writing regularly gives you better opportunities to be voted when we arrive your page.
