The Better day of SteemAlive: "Nightmare"/worst thing that ever happened to me @sambee

in SteemAlive4 years ago (edited)

I believe in everything until it's disproved. So I believe in fairies, the myths, dragons. It all exists, even if it's in your mind. Who's to say that dreams and nightmares aren't as real as the here and now?

Hello follow Steemian. Am going to tell us the worst thing that has happened to me all in the name of nightmare and later turn to reality.

A Nightmare is a disturbing dream associated with negative feelings, such as anxiety or fear that awakens you. Nightmares are common in children, but can happen at any age, and occasional nightmares usually are nothing to worry about.

                                        *MY NIGHTMARE*

The worst nightmare of my life was when I lost my partner in crime (Grandma). Am writing this contest with tears in my eyes because it reminded me of a big shock I had.

Most times, I do ask God why he did not allow me to spend much time with my Grandma. She is a woman of zero worry, generous mother, a mother with pure heart, a cheerful giver, embodiment of grace. She is the kind of woman that fight for the family, she doesn't want to hear that nobody in the family is not alright, she carries everybody along. So sad I did not spent much time with her before she answer our Lord's call.

It was sometime in March 22, 2008 when my Grandma visited my family house at Aba, Abia State, Nigeria. That was when she came to stay with us for some months, though my mum just put to bed as of that time. She really took care of my and my siblings. On August, that was when mother's do have their village meeting in my village and some other part of Nigeria, the meeting is always called AUGUST MEETING. Mum started preparing to travel down to my village for the meeting, though the meeting will take up to 2 or 3weeks. I didn't want to travel with my mum because of my Grandma because she and my dad will be left alone, but I have no choice since my dad said I must follow my mum. A night before the travelling, I had a strange dream, which cost my parents to start praying for me at that night. In the dream I saw a casket line up at the front of my compound and people were on black crying mercilessly, I was a kind of confused, I search for my mum I couldn't find her, till I get to a particular corner saw her crying and some women around her sympathizing . It was so bitter, everybody in my dream crying both small and big, both adult and children. I kept asking what was going on, why everyone crying but it just look as if am talking to deaf people, no one could answer me, till I force myself to open the casket. It was my Grandma laying lifeless and another casket beside her own but couldn't recognize the face, I shouted so loud and faint, in my dream I saw people rushed me, pouring water on me, trying all they could to wake me up. Thank God at last, I was able to wake up. After a while I shouted again, it was that shout that got me up from sleep, my parents have to rushed to me, my heart was beating so fast, sweat all over me as if I bed wet. After I narrate the dream to them, we pray over it, ever since then, I have never want to leave my grandma alone.

The following day we start the journey, unfortunately, my mum forgot her phone at home and asked me to go and get it for her, when I got home, my Grandma was shedding tears (crying), I went to her not minding my mum was waiting for me at the road side, where we can get vehicle, I asked her why she is crying but she did not ay anything to me rather, she asked me to pray hard and ask my mum to visit her own village after the meeting. I cried with her for sometimes before I remembered my mum was waiting for me. I told her not to worry, that we will soon come back and see her, I left.

As we have travelled, on the 4th day of our travelling, it was on Sunday, we are in church service, though I did not went the same church with my mum, I went to Catholic with my Uncles wife. On that faithful day, I saw my Uncle rush inside the church, I greeted him, he asked my of my mum which I told him where she is, he now asked my to call my his wife which I did, they now asked me to start going home, as I came out from the church, I saw my dad in a vehicle, I was so surprised because he never told us that he will be coming to village, before I could reach the vehicle my driver zoom off, I kept wondering what brought my dad to village, reaching home, I was asked to go inside as I was about to enter inside they opened the car I saw my Grandma laying lifelessly, as someone who has no help ((chai crying), this world is nothing) as I saw my grandma, I shouted in a louder voice, I rushed to held her but the opportunity wasn't there for me, because my uncle shouted at me and order to lock me indoor. The shock of my grandma really harm me so much to an extent, I couldn't sleep, eat or talk to anyone, I was as of then I was 8years of age. It was by the grace of God that came back to my normal sense, because everybody was afraid of loosing me because of the incident, so unfortunate I didn't spent much time with her. My mum have to do all she can to see an alright. Hmmm it wasn't easy. But I thanks God because she is resting at the right hand of God, that was my happiness.
