My Favorite Lesson #2: “Rule of Law(Government).”
Hello friends....
I bring you warmth greetings from my own part of the world Nigeria, it's with a joyful heart I will love to participate on this contest organised by @fajrularifst in this community.
✅ What was your favorite lesson in school, explain why you liked that lesson.?
My favorite lesson back then in school was "Rule of Law". I liked this very lesson because it taught me about the importance of justice, equality, and fairness in the society. The topic rule of law is one of the basic concepts of Government, and is a fundamental concept that ensures all individuals and government officials are subject to the law. I found it fascinating to learn about how the Rule of Law protects individual rights, prevents abuse of power, and promotes social justice in every society across the globe.
✅ What achievements have you made with your favorite lesson?
My dedication also got me to this level☺️.
One out of many achievements I made with this favourite lesson (Rule of Law) was participating in a school debate competition where I argued earnestly in favour of the importance of upholding the Rule of Law in the society. Of course my team and I won the competition, and it was a great feeling to know that our arguments and presentations were effective in convincing the judges, though government as a subject is my favourite subject and my teacher Mr Dimgba was wow, truly a master of his subject.
✅Share memories with the teacher who taught the lesson.?
My teacher, Mr Dimgba was an amazing educationalist who made learning about the Rule of Law enjoyable and very easier for me, One of my favorite memories was when he invited a guest speaker, a lawyer to talk to our class about the practical applications of the Rule of Law. The lawyer shared more lights of how the Rule of Law had been used to protect individual rights and promote social justice in the society.
Well well, seen a lawyer that day alone for the first time in our life is an unforgettable moments of our lives, because the lawyer appears in his full gown, which trigger us to say we'll like to become a lawyer someday, after all Mr Dimgba encouraged us to think about the importance of the rule of law in maintaining a just and fair society wherever we found ourselves in the future, and be a good and reliable citizens.
✅Share the material you like/are good at from the lesson, give an explanation so we can understand it too.?
One of the materials I liked back then in secondary school and was good for the Rule of Law lesson is the concept of "separation of powers" which entails the division of powers amongst the three major institutions of government (Executive, legislature and judiciary), and each has it functions and role to play in the government, so as the right of every individual would be respected.
This separation of powers helps to ensure that power is distributed equally and that no one branch can dominate the others. Other materials which was used by my teacher Mr Dimgba is the real life application, bringing lawyer to give us more insight on the rule of law class session, and that makes me to fall in love with the subject and the topic as well, others are text books etc.
I'm inviting @suboohi @josepha and @dove11 for the contest.
