Story at school #2: ..... being victimized by my math teacher ....."

Good evening fellow steemians , it's a blessed day,I want to share my thoughts on today's contest back then in college.

I remembered when I was in college back then, everything was fun, inspiring at the same time boring, competition everywhere contesting who will emerge the school representative in every external competition.

Life in college was really an amazing one for me, remembering every activities that went down during those days, still brings me joy and laughter, I remember when I was in junior secondary 3, during lunch hours, I stroll outside the class for a sight see, a young lady of my age staring at me from a distance, couldn't help but stared back at her, that very moment I had butterflies in my belly.

when I couldn't resist staring at her

I couldn't approach her. As a shy guy and an introvert, I didn't know how to go about it. I tried ignoring the feelings at first, but they kept coming back. After a few days, she observed that I was shy and decided to take the initiative to approach me herself.Guess what? When she came around, I saw her from a distance, knowing she was heading towards me. I panicked and hid myself. She got embarrassed by my actions. I couldn't imagine myself talking to her with my high level of shyness.

When I got back home, I started working on myself. The embarrassment was too much for me. I read every love novel I could find, and I began browsing online for tips on how to approach a lady. This might sound weird, but I even took a virtual class to improve my social skills. I was determined to overcome my shyness. After days of training, I returned to school feeling more confident. She was surprised when she saw me smiling at her from a distance. Everything was in order! After the morning devotion, I didn't want to wait until lunchtime to talk to her, fearing I might forget my lines. Yeah, the long-awaited moment had finally arrived! She was with her cycle of friends, but I walked towards her direction, reached out to her, and she was like, "Finally." At that point, I felt relieved.

I struck up a conversation, and after some days, we began flowing together. My introverted lifestyle slowly faded away. Yeah, I wouldn't deny the fact that we were in love. Everyone noticed, and they were all marvelled. We did our assignments together, scheduled our reading time, and a lot more.

One faithful afternoon, I was summoned by my mathematics teacher, Mr. Bassey, a tall, huge man with a dark skin complexion. Arriving at his office, I knocked, and a voice inside said, "Open." I entered, looking down, wondering if an external mathematics competition would be announced soon.

My assumption wasn't close to the main issue of the day.He called out my name, and I heard the sound echoing! That was when I knew something was wrong. He said, "I don't want to see you with Mary again." I was shocked at first, and curiosity made me ask, "Sir, why?" He responded, "She's mine. Don't try to drag her away from me. If you dare, you'll be expelled from college." That wasn't a mere threat; he meant every word.

He was a married man with two lovely kids, but why Mary? She was just 16 years old. I couldn't tell her about the conversation; I was afraid of losing her and afraid of failing. I didn't know who to turn to, as he had the authority, and no one would believe me. I hardly focused in class then.

I finally told Mary about everything. She hated the man, and we made plans to avoid him. We had a secret spot where we would meet without implicating myself. He had spies monitoring us, but we were careful. Until one day, he caught us sitting together at our secret spot.

I wasn't afraid anymore. He walked up to me and slapped me, shouting at Mary to leave. She left, and he took me to his office, where he was about to lash me with strokes of cane. I had no option but to leave school and work out another admission elsewhere.

After leaving school, I didn't stop communicating with Mary. We kept our friendship going. She didn't agree to his selfish demands, which made him frustrated, and he decided to move on with his life.
