Hi Steemians in the Teachers & Students Community who are happy wherever you are. May we all get blessings from the Almighty, all matters are made easy, given the straight path, health and happiness. Pick up all dreams and hopes and do not give up, be enthusiastic and let positive thoughts envelop us and throw away laziness, fear, lack of confidence and negative thoughts that haunt us. What we need to move forward and become successful is the best effort and prayer.

Actually I have wanted to make my post here for a long time, but because of my busyness lately which is so much that I rarely make my posts. But this weekend I have no plans to go on vacation so there is a little time to surf in this virtual world. This time, it so happens that the Teachers & Students Community is holding a contest with the theme Student Building Strategies (PART 1) || Student's and teacher's bonding. For that, let me invite @astilem @sol02 @kuhinoor to participate in this interesting contest. Hopefully my Steemian will be willing to follow it.

I am a teacher at one of the public schools in my city. I teach at a junior high school, I teach science. My profession as a teacher requires me to be a good leader for my students. Because a teacher is someone who is respected and imitated. Not only transferring knowledge but all my actions become the center of attention for my students. So I must be able to set an example for my students. Okay, I will try to start my contest. I would be happy to share this contest with you.

As a teacher, what do you think your understanding with the student should be?

In my opinion, students or learners are children or part of society who are studying to gain knowledge. In addition, they are also trying to develop their potential through a good learning process. The stages that students must go through are elementary school, junior high school, high school until they reach college. And on the educational path, both informal education, formal education and non-formal education.

Students are individuals who have their own uniqueness, this can be seen from their behavior which is different from one child to another. Although physically individuals may have similarities, in essence they are not the same, many abilities, talents, interests, advantages and disadvantages are possessed by students. The teacher's job is to understand and direct students so that they can develop with their personality and be useful for their future

As a teacher, do you differentiate between good and bad students, or do you give equal importance to both?

Not only me but I hope all teachers in this world should not discriminate against their students under any circumstances. Because every student deserves the same attention, education, teaching and educational services. No one should be biased between good and bad children. Teachers must be fair, for that a teacher must be able to have the ability to understand each character of his students. In addition, teachers must have patience and sincerity in carrying out their duties well.

Actually there are no bad children, all children are born good but what makes sometimes there are good or bad students is their family and environment. That's why the role of parents is very large for the development of their children. Good cooperation between teachers and parents will help the child's development process in the future. Parents and teachers must support each other, give attention, affection and good guidance. So that it is expected to provide better changes in the future.

How is your relationship with your students, has it ever happened that you failed to convince your students, if so?

My relationship with my students is very good. I liken my relationship with them to a family. I position myself as a second mother to my students. So their first parents at home are their parents at home, while at school I am their second mother. My students really respect and respect me, on the other hand my students are also very happy and enthusiastic about learning with me. They can still position themselves as students well. When it's time to play and joke around I don't hesitate to pamper them with our closeness. However, when it's time to study I try to make my students focus and concentrate on their lessons.

In the past when I first became a teacher, I mean when I first taught, when I didn't have much experience dealing with students, I had failed to convince my students, I often got carried away by my students' emotions. However, as time went by in my second year of teaching, I finally managed to make the atmosphere in the teaching and learning process even better. Every day I learn from my mistakes to become a teacher who can be a better role model and example for my students.

If a student makes a mistake, how do you solve it as a teacher?

Before starting the learning process, on the first day of school I usually always make a class agreement that contains all the applicable rules regarding agreements or rules agreed upon by students and teachers in the classroom. This agreement is made to create a comfortable and productive learning environment. This agreement is also made together with students. So there are rules, prohibitions and sanctions that will be given to students according to mutual agreement and students will get the consequences if violated.

So when a student makes a mistake, usually I will not scold him and give punishment directly. But I will call him and find out what the problem is, then find the best solution for the student who made the mistake. Mistakes are common because from those mistakes students can learn to improve themselves to be better in the future. I will also work with guidance counselors, homeroom teachers and parents to motivate students to pay more attention to students who have problems. Students should be given tenderness and affection, not violence or punishment because it will affect their psychology.

Mistakes made by students not only have negative impacts but there are positive sides that students get themselves. With mistakes, it turns out that it can help students build mental resilience, critical thinking skills, and creativity. Therefore, teachers need to provide more space for mistakes as an integral part of the teaching and learning process in schools, so that students can grow and develop into better individuals by learning from mistakes.

That's my sharing in the contest entitled "Bonds between students and teachers" which was organized by the great Teachers & Students Community. Hopefully it is useful for all of us. Thank you to @memamun as moderator for such a brilliant contest idea and don't forget to say my regards to this great team, success for all of us, and see you soon.

Warm Regard
