Tips & tricks how to do a little good prsentation to our students

In my perspective based on my experiences how the way to do a good presentation, those are some of tips & tricks to make our lovely students can do it well :

1. Give Them Specific Vocabs & Stay Focus On Those Vocabs

IMG20240921153417.jpg

My student was doing presentation about "The Special Event In Her School. Sure, I have already given a bunch of vocabs to her before doing presentation in front of the class

Let me share one of my experiences when I was teaching my beloved student I gave my students a bunch of vocabs concern the types of ”Meat” such as fish, chicken, beef, pork, lamb, venison, squid, prawn, calamary, bacon, sausage, smoked beef and so on.

In that day I also gave her ”Cooking Vocabs” such as pour, fry, boil, cook, bake, grill, grilled chicken, roasted, knife, frying pan, chopping board, boiling pan, chili brids, ketchup, soy sauce & so forth. Without any doubt I asked her to do a little presentation about how to cook some yummy food by using those vocabs.

In this matter, I try making my student to focus on specific topic, there are ”Meat & Cooking Vocabularies” On Monday morning. Yep, I make sure that she already knew about some vocabs with a good pronunciation.

This is depend on our student’s skills & capabilities how to memorize something, mainly English vocabs. Usually if my student rather have a good capabilities or brilliant & fast response plus easier to memorize something, I will give them a plenty of vocabs. However if not, so I only give some vocabs depend on their strength to memorize it later.

2. Give Their Time To Understand About The Topic & Prepare Themself

I was giving their time to understand about our topic today before asking them to do a little presentation in front of the class

Before asking my students to do a little presentation, usually I always make sure that they already understood about the topic. It means as a good teacher, please don’t be selfish to your student. You can not push them to follow what do you want & they must do it like your highest expectation. I frequently give time to my beloved student minimal about five minutes and maximal about ten minutes to understand about the topic. In this case concern the vocabularies which one I have already given last time. Meanwhile for doing presentation to prepare themselves, usually I gave them the time approximately fifteen until twenty minutes.

3. Don’t Underestimate About The Pronunciation & Grammar

Let me remind you that even if you just asked your students to do a little presentation only for training in your class yet try to make them to say it with a good pronunciation furthermore grammar.

However generally for the grammar (this is only in my point of view) minimal just give them basic grammar & try to do not cut when they want to do a little presentation in front of the class. Minimal about Simple Present Tense, Simple Past Tense, Present Continous, Past Continous, Simple Future. If my students quite clever, usually I gave them addition such as Present Perfect or Past Perfect & please bold it, this is also depends on they level & what they need. Honestly I couldn’t lie also that I am still on the process learn about grammar these years. I try my best to hit the book every single day

4. Give Them Some Of Words To Start & Close The Presentation

One of the highest point before asking your students to do presentation, please don’t forget to give them some of sentences about how to open the presentation.

For examples to open, ”Assalamu’alaikum. Good morning, ladies & gentleman. Today, I would like to do a little presentation about “...Title...” or I am going to share you about how to cook Grilled Chicken” and so on.

If you can open with a little stories or quotes then goes to the main topic, it will give the highest score for your presentation to catch and get full of attention from the audience.

5. Don’t Push Your Student To Do Presentation If They Are Not Ready Yet

My student was trying to do a little presentation in my English private class about “How To Cook Chicken Soup” whilst having a seat inasmuch as she needs to learn first

Yep, I never push my student to do presentation if they are not ready yet. I frequently asked their feeling first and give some questions or offer them to present something in front of the class after giving some theme. If they are not ready yet, I try to ask them smoothly to do a little presentation just have a seat on the mat first before next time they will come forward to the class. Alhamdulillah they want to do it. It needs step by step to do something good inasmuch as I do personally believe that everyone has different skills and capabilities on this planet.

Let me tell you Alhamdulillah almost every single meeting, I frequently brainwash (+) them to be confident and do not be afraid to make a mistake when they want to speak English.

Sure this is give a bunch of good effects plus impacts to them when they want to do presentation in front of the class. Jazz, mostly want to do it in front of the class when I was asking them to do presentation.

6. Be Confident !

This point is one of the great points to do a good presentation. I always remind & inform my students to be confident when they want to do presentation in front of the class or public places.

My pupil was doing presentation about her favourites food & beverages whilst making a little humor

When you are confident and smart how to play and make a good words with a sense of humor, let say although you didn’t really expert about the topic yet it will make your audience is interesting with your topic or presentation. Sure, you have to put the politeness. When you are confident, it will make you like an elegant person & stay focus on your topic. Don’t forget reminding your student to use eyes-contact, gesture, body language, try to build interaction & communication to their audience.

Alhamdulillah after applying those tips & tricks to my beloved students, it pretty works well, fellas.

You have shared an excellent tips of how our student can effectively present in front of their mates and even in public, it is necessary they look their audience straight in the eye because that builds courage, i have also learnt from this writing that mastering of terms is very neccesary, so they can be used when presenting, you also said that student should not be rushed or force to do any presentation when it is not time but at some point i feel they should be so that they may take preparing on time serious next time.
