"Life After School?"

Hi everyone today I will like to participate in this new contest organized by @nsijoro in teachers and students community. Here is my opinion regarding the above topic.

How will your life after school be or has been?

After I graduated from university and finished my one-year mandatory youth service corp, I feel confused about what to do next. I am looking for a job that will keep me busy in the community, to the extent that I applied for a job in a fish shop. My brother, who has a Higher National Diploma certificate (HND), went there with me, and we got the job through someone's connection. We were employed by the woman, and she assigned tasks that needed to be done, along with the salary she needed to pay each one of us. Over time, this woman started to abuse us in front of the customers to the point where she would sack workers who misbehaved without considering a second chance.

This situation became too much for us. We had agreed with her to resume work at the office in the morning at 9:00 am and close around 5:00 pm. However, the agreement suddenly changed regarding the closing time. Now we close at 9:00 pm when there is nobody on the street, we find it difficult to to see Keke or cab. We have been working for her, and up to this moment, she has not paid us any salary. So, we are basically working for free.

Do you think education is a scam? Choose between yes, no, yes and no and explain.

To me, education is not a scam. It helps me to know what is right and wrong. The people who normally say that are the people who have lost hope when they graduated from university without finding a government job. Education exposes me to different things that are still useful to me. In fact, it is one of the keys for societal development as well as personal growth.

Thinking about school as a scam is a wrong idea. Once you are educated, you may be able to make good decisions for yourself as well as solve some problems that affect you. Education is very important for skill development and to be able to communicate freely with various people who surround you. Education serves as an opportunity that opens doors for us. Once we have a certificate, surely good things will happen to us.

What do you think one should do after obtaining a degree without a job? business, learn a soft skill. Share with us these skills and businesses?

There are so many things we can engage in after graduating from university. I know someone who learned how to produce paint; he was a graduate but could not find a job. After he finished learning the skill, he started connecting with people in the community. As I am speaking to you, the boy has now built his own house and with one truck he uses to carry goods from one place to another. There are many skills we can learn that will earn us good money, such as tailoring, hairdressing, painting, catering, baking, and so on. Education can help us stand as professionals to help us gain more insight about the skill we learn.

Additionally, Business is also good as well, but it requires capital to start. There are different businesses we can start with small money if we have strong determination and work hard; that business will suddenly boom, and we can make cool money from it.

Will you blame the government for not getting employed as a graduate?

It is the responsibility of the government to provide employment for its citizens, especially people who have just graduated from college, polytechnic, and university. There are over 10,000 graduates annually in Nigeria, but most of them are not employed in different government agencies. Those who have strong connections or money buy government jobs, which is not supposed to happen. Employment must be available for youths to reduce the rate of crime in our society.

There are a lot of programs the government can establish to curb the problem of unemployment, from which people can benefit from it. The previous administration created N-Power for young graduates. Although it lasted for one year, those who knew what to do invested the money in legitimate businesses.

Do you think steemit can reduce the number of unemployed graduates in your country, how?

Steemit is a long-term investment that has potential for the future. Steemit helps many Nigerians to reduce the rate of unemployment and poverty. Nigerians youth need steemit because there are many who graduated without job.

It also serves as a platform to earn extra money for people who are already employed. Many Nigerians who have registered on this platform have used it to support themselves and their families. Steemit serves as employment to some people because they fully operate on this platform to earn money on a daily basis especially those who belong to club5050.

As a student, if you had an opportunity to invest, what area do you think you should invest in?

Firstly, I will invest in real estate business. There are so many people who invest in real estate and earn cool money. I have once joined one platform where I stood as a middleman between sellers and buyers. I know the opportunity I derived or lessons I learned from it, and I have also read about the successful people who put their money in the real estate business. Buying property is what I always dream of, and if the time comes, everything will happen according to the plan.

Secondly, I will invest in Steem because the future of Steem is bright like Bitcoin. Currently, the price of Steem is 0.1325, and by the time Steem reaches 1 or 2 dollars, I will make a lot of profit in return. It's a reliable coin someone can invest their money in.

Conclusion

Education play an important role in human life without it society will experience backwardness and hardly people will also find solution to the challenge they are facing. I would like to invite @xkool24, @abdullahw2, and @ruthjoe to join me in this contest.
