RE: Captain America and the same old theme

in Netflix & Streaming2 months ago (edited)

Before I even had access to this one I had already been told that it was trash and wasn't going to be worth my time. I decided to check it out anyway though and the people that warned me were correct. I don't think there are any redeeming qualities for this movie because even the very expensive CGI looks fake and dare i say, stupid, at certain points. There are a ton of plot-holes also, and I think the massive reshoots that made this budget skyrocket had a lot to do with the changing political landscape in the country of origin. These days, Americans are quick to boycott a film if it is so much as perceived as being DEI or political brainwashing and I suspect that the original product was absolutely filled with exactly that.

what we get in the end is a slog of a film that doesn't even really make sense with a ton of plot holes. Well done Marvel, well done.

I didn't make it all the way through this one as I was annoyed about 1hr 20 minutes in. I do know that it managed, barely, to almost break even in global sales and these days with huge budget productions, that is probably considered a win. By the time they license it for streaming, it will be in the green again.

If they made the movies exactly like the comics, it would be something else, but it's nothing like it.
