RE: The Remains of the Day (film): Hopkins shines (as he tends to) in this unusual film
It's going to be for a specific type of person. For many, this might be considered to "artsy" as it is difficult at times to even tell what the point of the film is, but if I am in the right mood, I enjoy this sort of thing that keeps you guessing and is intellectually stimulating. By the time it is over, if you paid attention, it is an extremely moving film that in some way or another, almost everyone can relate to or if not, fear that the same thing might be happening to them without their knowledge and well, I think this is the entire point of the film.
Watch it on a day when you can really pay attention to it, perhaps with some food to keep you occupied during the "downtime"
Thanks for the tip - I think I'll like it and it sounds like it's one to watch with the-mrs-gorilla.
