C stands for... Companion

I love the French word for a pet. It says way more about the animal we keep than pets. I mean what is "pet" if you think about it?
The meaning of pet is in my language not different from the word we use in my mother language. An animal that is your companion. Rarely all those animals we keep are or perhaps they do. Although animals are being neglected and abused our behavior toward our fellow humans is worse. We rarely care about them and invest more time and energy than is healthy for us to give others the worst time of their lives.
We pretend we care but if it comes to it we dominate, blame others, manipulate and kill just out of fun.

To many that animal who keeps one company is a better choice than all those we think we can abuse, molest and dominate.
Perhaps AI, a chip in our brain will change this nasty behavior of us, believing our life matters and we have the right to take others' properties.

Human company and companions come with a price if you keep kicking them they will eventually give up on you and walk out. That loyal dog is satisfied with a single pet once a week. Perhaps that's why the word pet is used for the animal who cannot choose who to keep company.
