Objective feedback from superiors is so important, it helps one identify shortcomings and improve. I appreciated and looked forward to this in one of my previous workplaces, so I was always ready and even actively asked for feedback. During that time, I didn't care about the nice things they said; I only wanted to know what I could do to get there, and it was usually something tangible like achieving sales targets.
But those were the days. About 20 years ago.
