Sofia and I work in our small office. I read your story to her and I must say she was moved to tears. She told me to write this comment : Parents lose their children with their ideas they don't take their decisions into account, they almost kill their son because of their stupidity. Thank goodness nothing happened to him. If that were the case, his life probably wouldn't be the best , it could be he'd regret it for the rest of his life.

I find it pathetic that always an accident should happen before parents let go of their own selfishness. It's not said that dad would have turned around. If the son was killed he most likely had blamed the girlfriend.

Sofia says that in that case the father would be the culprit, and the girlfriend saves him.
The sad thing about topic is that it often happens: parents argue with their children, and they go out regardless of the time or place. The remorse has led some parents to die.
