Having the use of the SC03 Community Curation account has been a great help in growing the use of Steem Atlas.

In the first week of February the number of daily posts has just about doubled from around 15 a day to now nearly 30 a day.

As more people get to know about Steem Atlas usage continues to grow every day.

Hightlights of the Week

Daily posts now averaging 28 per day
61 different authors have posted to the site in the past week
Posts have been added to 25 different countries
The Atlas Ambassadors program has been started
A new version of Steem Atlas was soft-launched on Thursday.

Atlas Ambassadors

To help Steem Atlas grow we are recruiting Atlas Ambassadors for each of the most active countries.

The role of Atlas Ambassador will include...

promoting Steem Atlas amongst Steemians in your country
helping people in your country with queries about posting on Steem Atlas
checking pin locations of new and old posts
checking old posts in your country for any inappropriate posts.

Applications should be made by 11:59 pm UTC, on Friday 14 February 2025...

[STEEM ATLAS @ 6 Feb '25] Would you like to be an Atlas Ambassador?

New Version

Regular users of Steem Atlas will have spotted that we soft-launched a new version on Thursday...

This introduced a number of new features including searching by author and by tag, and an improved interface and workflow.

We have many more improvements and new features in the pipeline that will gradually be added in the coming days and weeks.

Top of the list will be the facility for adding beneficiaries, and geographical searching.

Top Posts of the Week

There have been many good quality posts added to Steem Atlas in the past week, so it is difficult to chose the ones to include in this post.

Here are six very good of examples of the type of post we are looking for on Steem Atlas...

A very well presented post, with a good selection of captioned photos, and useful information for a visitor to the zoo.
@chefdanie : Pasar tradisional Desa Lancang Barat, solusi untuk kebutuhan sehari-hari
An informative and well written post about a local market in Aceh, Indonesia. The inclusion of sample goods and prices available at the market adds significantly to the value of the post.
@damithudaya : A Memorable Visit to Dehiwala Zoo
Another well written post with good information and good photos.
@fantvwiki : YULI BAKSO TRI Meatballs, North Aceh
A good example of a review of a local eating place - good information, good photos and good presentation. The inclusion of the list of menu items with prices both in local currency and in STEEM is an added bonus for the post.
@lightcaptured : Photo-walk in Drvengrad
A straight forward photo essay recording of a visit to a village in Serbia - the strong, bright and large photos are the main selling point of this post.
@miftahulrizky : My traveling part 1 🇲🇾 : Platinum Happy Suite Hotel KLCC, Kuala Lumpur
A very informative and well presented report about a hotel stay in Kuala Lumpur.

For the seventh pick of the week, @willeusz produced a very useful guide in Spanish about how to use Steem Atlas...

I really liked the new version of the website, it looks more modern and dynamic. I liked that when zooming in on the map and setting a location the scale does not decrease as it did in the previous version.

Sorry, may I give you some advice?
Add a query string to CSS file links to bypass browser caching, like this: /css/style_file.css?v=12345. On a desktop PC, this is almost irrelevant, but for a mobile browser this small setting is really missing because it keeps the cache for a long time, and nothing changes when refreshing the page. You have to go into the browser settings.

If you are using PHP, this is very easy to apply to all CSS files:

$ver_css = '123';

echo '/css/style_file_1.css?v=' . $ver_css;
echo '/css/style_file_2.css?v=' . $ver_css;

Again sorry for the unsolicited advice.

Hi! First of all, thanks so much for the feature and support and for the wonderful summary of my travel story, I really like your writeup a lot! :)

The Ambassador initiative is really interesting and I bet would be fun to take a part in, I am considering it and I have a question, as I have made only one new post on Atlas and the others are those of mine that were automatically imported from the old pinmapple project, if I apply it would be that new post and two older, is that OK? :)

Re: the new user search feature, I tried to use it today but only got a black screen on the right-hand side of the screen.

I am on Windows 11, and I tried this URL: https://steematlas.com/@lightcaptured
on all those browsers, with their latest versions:

Brave
Chrome
Firefox

It looked the same on all of them browsers.

I hope that helps and I'm looking forward for your answer so I start preparing my Atlas Ambassador application! :)

We have had some buggy issues with the user search - hopefully it will be fixed tomorrow.
