Weekly Report as Steem Representative, 26 August July 2024

in Steem POD Teamlast month

My Steemian friends,

It was an eventful, or, should I rather say, “rollercoaster” week for me.
I caught my 12th dolphin, which was a big reward for me, and I also stepped down as administrator in Steem For Ladies, which, on the other hand, was an emotional moment.

Luckily weeks like this also come to an end.

Time for my weekly feedback.

Week 74!

Steem For Ladies

It was with sadness that I stepped down as administrator of Steem For Ladies after more than 1,5 years, but it was also with excitement.

I told the moderator’s yesterday morning that it is now time for them to stay positive and, yes, to stay committed.

As for myself, I will continue supporting the community and its members where I can. I am not going anywhere.

A big THANK YOU to everyone who supported me on this part of my Steemit journey!

Issues encountered:

I know we learn about protecting your keys from the very first day, and we also get to read posts and comments every now and again about the importance of keeping your keys safe.
One of the important lessons I have learned this week is not to store your keys on your phone. You have to store them in another place, might it be on your computer, in a book, or even in the “cloud.”

We are sitting with the predicament that we cannot change the administrators on the Steem For Ladies due to a broken phone.

Keep your keys safe and stored in more than one place.

See you next week!

Thank you! ☕

A broken phone? But if that phone can't be repaired and a new one is needed does that mean there are no keys?

Altogether t was a rollercoaster and it doesn't sound as if it ended.

Heel veel sterkte.

Correct! Those keys are gone!

For instance, you are an admin in your community. If you should get others to join as moderators and you decide to make one of them admin, you can only change the rolls with a key that is higher than the admin, and that will be the hive key.

Now if the hive keys were saved on a phone and the phone cannot be repaired, those keys are gone. This means that you will show up as an admin under "Leadership" forever.

That just shows how important it is to make sure keys are saved well and on more than one place.
