Syuhada Mosque Gampong Mutia

Masjid Syuhada Gampong Mutia is a mosque located in the middle of Kampung Mutia village, this mosque is close to my wife's house in Langsa City. This mosque has an important meaning for me because I often worship here whenever I am in Langsa City.

The mosque has a unique architecture and is simple, yet modern. Although the mosque courtyard is not too large, it is ideal enough to carry out various religious activities.

The mosque has a parking area that is enough to accommodate hundreds of motorbikes. However, this parking area is also not large enough for cars, so cars must be parked in front of the mosque fence or on the side of the road around the mosque.

The ablution place in this mosque is also interesting. They still maintain the tradition of using a large tub or "kulah" for ablution. The water in the kulah is always clean and well-maintained, which may indicate the role of the mosque's administrators.

The mosque has a main room that is equipped with air conditioning and the right and left parts use glass doors. To enter the mosque, there are four entrances, one door from the right side, one door from the left side, and the two doors from the back side.

Because it uses full air conditioning facilities this mosque is very comfortable for worship. However, for worshipers who cannot stand the cold weather, there are also areas on the left, right and back of the mosque that are not air-conditioned.

At the front of the mosque, there is blue calligraphy, the model and shape of the calligraphy in this mosque is quite simple in contrast to many other mosques that have a more luxurious and colorful impression.

When I came to this mosque and documented a number of photos, the main purpose of my arrival this time was to perform Friday prayers in congregation.

Before the Friday prayer began, one of the mosque administrators made a number of announcements about the details of the mosque's cash fund, which consisted of the amount of donations received, the use of the mosque's daily needs, and the remaining Friday cash balance.

From the announcement it is known that the money was used for various other mosque needs and added to the remaining cash balance the previous Sunday, the mosque still has cash of 13,375,000 IDR or around 6220 STEEM (calculated based on the steem price on Saturday March 15, 2025).

The donations come from the local community, the money can be handed over to the mosque administrators or charity boxes.

After the mosque management report was read, then I heard the Friday tausiah, here we can notice that the khatib's pulpit for delivering the Friday tausiah is also quite simple. Unlike other mosques which sometimes have a larger and more magnificent pulpit size. Furthermore, after the preacher finishes delivering religious messages, the activity continues with Friday prayers in congregation.

As additional information that this mosque every dawn and maghrib there is a religious recitation, this recitation discusses certain topics, fiqh, aqidah, tasawuf and others by inviting a number of religious figures who have extensive knowledge in their respective fields, information related to this recitation can be seen on the bulletin board.

Overall, the Syuhada Mosque in Gampong Mutia is a comfortable mosque as one of the centers of worship for the surrounding community. Despite its modest size, the mosque has adequate facilities and active religious activities, such as congregational prayers and recitations.
