My trip in Singapore continued to the Sultan Mosque of Singapore, an iconic building with stunning architecture.

We departed from Merlion Park to the Sultan Mosque of Singapore by public bus. Using my contactles debit card, I was able to take public transportation in the country to get to our next destination.

We arrived there at around 2.45pm on Tuesday, February 4, 2025. Upon arrival at the Sultan Mosque, the spacious courtyard of the mosque welcomed us. Surrounding it were shops selling antiques, including Islamic miniatures mostly from Turkey.

There are also various accessories and food sold around the mosque. Just being in the courtyard of this mosque is like being on a street in Turkey that I have seen through several videos.

Because we had not yet prayed, we immediately entered the mosque area, my wife and I began to separate because since entering the mosque area there is a special area divider between men and women. I then rushed to the ablution place to clean myself before praying.

The Sultan Mosque is not only stunning from the outside, but also from the inside. The golden yellow dome adds to the impression of luxury and grandeur. The unique ornaments in every corner of the mosque reflect the architecture of a beautiful blend of Malay, Arabic and Indian styles.

The mosque is also equipped with complete facilities, including TV screens, fans, air conditioning, and clean and fragrant prayer rugs. All of these facilities made my prayers feel comfortable and solemn.

After praying, I took a moment to rest in a corner of the mosque. Without realizing it, I fell asleep for a few minutes, which shows that this mosque is very comfortable and cool when we are in it. But it should be noted that one of the functions of the mosque is not to rest but to worship.

After waking up, I then walked around every corner of this mosque, I looked at the left and right corners. The mosque looks simple with a size that is also not too large. However, this mosque has been recognized as one of the tourism objects because it is the first mosque in the country of Singapore.

While inside the mosque I forgot to take the cellphone that I had left with my wife earlier. Hopefully my wife did not forget to charge my cell phone which had long since run out when we were at Merlion Park. So I was unable to capture many moments while inside the mosque.

🤷‍♂️ Can non-Muslim travelers enter the mosque?

This mosque is also open to non-Muslim tourists, for non-Muslim tourists who want to visit this mosque and want to see directly the inside of this mosque is fine, but on condition that they must wear clothes that cover the aurat.

In addition, for non-Muslim tourists, there are certain areas that they can enter while in the mosque, and the mosque management usually accompanies them, giving directions and explanations.

I walked out of the mosque and waited for my wife on the front lawn. While waiting, I observe a group of students from Korea painting the mosque's architecture under the guidance of their teacher. Their paintings looked so good, I assumed they were students majoring in architecture.

After my wife finished praying, we took some photos in the courtyard of the mosque to capture this beautiful moment.

Then, we went to find something to eat around the Sultan mosque, I chose meat fried rice and my wife chose chicken fried rice, we ordered two glasses of cold tea to accompany our meal.

We chose a strategic location for the restaurant, which is directly opposite the Sultan Mosque of Singapore.

While eating, we met a gentleman who was also from Indonesia. He reminded us to always be careful and obey the rules that apply in Singapore. Some important rules he mentioned were the prohibition of cigarette butts, spitting, and littering.

Violations of these rules can result in hefty fines, making it very difficult to escape the scrutiny of Singapore immigration officers. In addition, he also reminded us that in every corner of Singapore there are CCTV cameras that monitor every visitor's behavior. Therefore, we must always be careful and obey all the rules.

After we finished eating, we paid the bill of 16 SGD. We then took a walk around the mosque, admiring the old buildings that look beautiful with bright colors.

This trip to the Sultan Mosque was a rewarding and unforgettable experience. Apart from the beautiful architecture of the mosque, I also learned about the importance of obeying the rules that apply in other countries. Singapore is indeed exemplary in terms of cleanliness and order.
