KFC Lhokseumawe fast food restaurant

That night, my wife, sister-in-law and I decided to have dinner at KFC Lhokseumawe. Although I personally have lost interest in this fast food restaurant due to the viral bacteria case a few years ago, my wife kept pushing me to try the interesting menus, especially during Ramadan. Therefore, I would like to share our experience at this restaurant.

Location and Facilities

KFC Lhokseumawe is located in the city center, right in front of the Islamic Center Mosque, which I have reviewed before. The restaurant building consists of three doors and three floors, but only the first and second floors are functional. Unfortunately, the parking area is quite limited, so visitors who bring cars are forced to park on the side of the road, which can be a problem when the restaurant is busy.

Service and Menu

Upon arrival, we were greeted kindly by the waiters. They offered several budget-friendly packages, and we opted for the combo buka puasa package for 99,000 IDR or approximately 44.5 Steem (calculated based on the Steem price on Saturday, March 22, 2025) which includes tax. This package consists of three pieces of chicken, two rice, one crispy burger, and three Fanta floats. In my opinion, this package is quite affordable and filling for the three of us.

It is worth noting that at KFC Lhokseumawe, customers are required to pay before eating, unlike other restaurants that allow payment after finishing. I tried to pay using my contacles debit card, but their machine didn't work properly. Finally, they provide an alternative payment via barcode scan.

Atmosphere and Additional Facilities

Overall, the service at this restaurant is quite good and satisfactory. The place is cozy, cool, and clean. There is also a children's play area, which is a plus for families with young children. Parents can eat in peace while watching the kids play.

During Ramadan, KFC staff welcome visitors with "Marhaban ya Ramadan". They also provide attractive photo spots with special decorations, which are a big draw for children. We didn't miss the opportunity to take a photo there as a memento.

KFC Lhokseumawe has also been integrated with a digital system through the KFCku application. However, I find this application less practical as it requires customers to download it. I would suggest ordering through the website, which is easier and faster to access without the need to download the app.

Food Quality

After waiting for a while, our order arrived. The food we ordered was simple yet filling. However, after tasting a few mouthfuls, I felt a little unsatisfied.

The fried chicken tasted ordinary, nothing special. The rice was also not as fluffy and soft as I remembered. I personally don't like Fanta float because I don't really like soda, so my disappointment was compounded. However, my wife and sister-in-law enjoyed it quite a bit.

The crispy burger we ordered was also not as expected, as it only consisted of flour dough shaped like nuggets. In my opinion, the nuggets tasted better than this batter.

Conclusions and Notes

While enjoying our meal, we chatted and spent time together. This moment of togetherness was very precious to us. Overall, my wife and sister-in-law were happy and satisfied with the promo package offered by KFC, although I was a little disappointed. I prefer local food that is more delicious compared to the menu in this restaurant.

There are a few notes that I would like to share. First, the inadequate parking lot. Secondly, the lack of official information from KFC Lhokseumawe regarding cases that have occurred, such as the case of bacteria in their chicken. Although we are very sure they have improved.

Nonetheless, we still enjoyed dinner at KFC Lhokseumawe thanks to the attractive promos and cozy atmosphere. Hopefully in the future, KFC Lhokseumawe can improve service quality and provide more transparent information to customers.
