Hello Steemian friends!

On this occasion, I would like to share my experience about one of the largest and grandest mosques in Lhokseumawe City, the Islamic Center Mosque.

This mosque has a special meaning for me, because every afternoon during Ramadan, I am often in the front yard of this mosque to accompany my wife to sell. Before selling, I always perform the Asr prayer at this mosque.

General Description of the Mosque

The Lhokseumawe City Islamic Center Mosque is the largest mosque in the city, built in 2001. The magnificent building with a touch of European style and its spacious place is a pride for the people of Lhokseumawe city.

From a distance, we can see large domes that add to the beauty of the mosque's architecture. Therefore, it is not wrong if this mosque becomes one of the icons of Lhokseumawe City.

Mosque Facilities

The mosque has four entrances that make it easy for worshipers to access the worship area. The doors lead to the second floor, which is the main place to carry out worship activities and congregational prayers.

The mosque consists of three floors, on the first floor there is a spacious hall, a place for ablutions and toilets, the second level is a special place for worship and the third level is not yet known for its function because it has not yet been completed.

After taking my wudu, I enter the worship area on the second floor. Here, worshippers are required to remove their sandals before entering the holy area.

The Beauty of the Mosque's Interior

The mosque is not only spacious from the outside, we can also notice how spacious it is inside, almost the size of a soccer field. We can also notice that the area for female worshippers is separate from the male worshippers, although it is only separated by a cloth barrier.

The atmosphere inside the mosque is cool although there are not many fans or air conditioners. This may be due to the mosque's higher position, allowing the wind to blow freely. The cool tiled floor also adds to the comfort while worshipping.

After performing the Asr prayer, I took some photos to document the beauty of this mosque. One that caught my eye was the mosque's magnificent mihrab, decorated with beautiful calligraphic carvings and a mix of golden yellow, black and white colors.

The special area for the imam is also clearly visible, where the imam stands at the front to lead the congregation. Next to the imam is a pulpit for the preacher to deliver religious advice, albeit a simple one.

The mihrab section of the mosque looks quite attractive with a combination of gold, black and white1000403555.jpg

However, I feel that the pulpit does not reflect the splendor of the mosque seen from the outside. Perhaps there needs to be an update to make the pulpit more modern and attractive.

In the front area of the mosque, there is a small air conditioner, a wall clock, and an LCD TV that displays the prayer times. There is also a Qur'an rack, so worshippers can read the Qur'an while inside the mosque. However, I found the air-conditioning in the mosque to be ineffective given the openness of the mosque.

On the other hand, I also saw a large piggy bank made of iron with a barcode for donations. This makes it easier for worshippers who want to make donations to the mosque.

Donations to the mosque can be given in cash through the charity box and by scanning the QR barcode.1000403568.jpg

The conditions are worrying and Hope for the Mosque

However, I feel concerned about the condition of the mosque that has been built for decades but has not been fully completed.

The condition of the mosque dome and the third floor is still unfinished, how long will it last?1000403561.jpg

We can notice how the condition of the mosque's dome and the condition of the third floor still looks unkempt with plain cement and no ornaments. Unlike most other mosques that are filled with beautiful calligraphy carved on the dome of the mosque.

This is also the case with the third floor, which should be used for religious activities, such as children reciting the Quran or others. But until now it is still unfinished, honestly I am confused about how the planning of this mosque was prepared before?

I hope the government can immediately take strategic steps to complete the construction of this mosque. Perhaps there needs to be a special effort to get funding from the central government so that the construction of this mosque can be resolved immediately.

After finishing my prayers, I went back to accompany my wife to work. Thus a brief review of the Lhokseumawe Islamic Center Mosque. Hopefully this information is useful!
