LOCATION

Located off Ibb avenue,atan offot before the state secretariat that same road could lead to atiku road,itam road,abak road even ibom plaza.

I sometimes pass through the road and I could swear I didn't see an institution there( cause I never noticed the signboard there 😒)untill I got an admission there I could see the institution clearly.

EXISTENCE

This reputable institution 'IBOM METROPOLITAN POLYTECHNIC ' is located at atan offot, off Ibb avenue by aka road.

It was brought into existence by Engr.Dr.Victor Utong Williams in 2001 Initially it was established as a college of petroleum technology which focuses on providing specialized vocational and technical skills, particularly for the oil and gas industry.

But in 2014 it became a polytechnic known as IBOM METROPOLITAN POLYTECHNIC (Aka;IMP)that focuses on diversed branch of engineering,science, business management etc. It was accredited by NBTE(National Board For Technical Education) in 2021.

The polytechnic offers both national and international certifications, including a National Diploma and an International Vocational Diploma,it is also affiliated with the British Council through City and Guilds of London Institute to award International Qualifications at Diploma and Full Technological Diploma levels recognized in over 150 Countries for employment and academic progression. We also partner with PETEX of the University of Texas, USA for academic support and research.

FACILITIES

Security camp

This post is located after the entrance of the school by the left where the half gate is situated at the management hall.

Leacture blocks

Quality, intensive leactures are recieve as well as taught in these leacture blocks

Administration block

This is where the admission process, payment of fees online through the eportal, assessment of students data take place here.

Practical lab

This is where that practical aspect of a student course is being held, ranging from engineering to science departments.

Staff office

This is where the leacturers stay to after leacturing b'cause it's their office,the stay here to grade a student assessment in class.

Welder's/Mechanical workshop

Here metal construct are fabricated like wise spoilt cars of leacturers are also repaired here,this place is where the mechanical engineering student have their practicals this is located in the management hall.

Conference hall

This is where meeting are being held,project are being defended to aquire your certificate as well as leactures.

Football field
This is where football matches are held.

Bursary

This is where teller are converted to receipt and where payments are approve by the school..

Hostel
Though this building is far from school but this is a place student could live during their stay in school it's just like staying a rented apartment where good resources are intact.

Pavilion

This is a place where public events are sometimes held in the school environment, when there isn't any event students tend to relax them self there as well as those who came to watch football matches against departments.

SKILL/ENTREPRENEURSHIP BLOCK

Barbing/Braiding Salon;

A salon is located next to the restaurant where student and leacturers hair are being given clean cut/braid. If you you're in school no chance to go to salon why waste time when you can book an appointment with the school salon to braid/cut your hair finest,with some few cash.

Fashion Design house;

If you're in need of a nice outfit for events like birthday, marriages, homecoming etc, outings, church or even visiting a friend come book an appointment,get measured and get your desired outfit ready.

Restaurant ;

This is located after the entrance of the school by the left hand side opposite the management hall, by which you can get more than enough intercontinental dishes spoonful for some few cash, it is owned by the school actually.

Photography Studio;

Need a nice photo of your self, a friend or anyone close to you worry less when a good studio is near you. Grap you cool outfit and get your snapshot in style.

Practical Entrepreneurship block;

This is a place where students are taught diversed side-hustle like sewing, bag-making, basic electrical installation, comestics, soap making etc of course we need side-hustle skills while we wait to get jobs with our diploma or BSC.

OPENING AND CLOSING TIME

Ibom metropolitan polytechnic is active from sunday to Friday at 8am to 4pm. So I would like you to come roll in your admission with IMP and you would never regret it, you could come by and visit anytime within those days and you will see for your self.
