Holy place - "The Church of Christ, No.1 Ukpom, Abak"

Greetings distinguished Steemians and all lovers of travels, my sincere appreciation to @miftahulrizky for bringing this privilege so we could present and map our worship places on the Steem atlas map.

The Church Building

Today, I will be presenting to us one of the locations I love going to. As a Christian, I am a member of The Church of Christ No.1 Ukpom Abak and I would love to give a detailed description of this location so as to give my little contribution to @pennsif Steem-atlas project. It is one of the most prominent congregations in Nigeria and it is always known for it long standing and unique miraculous transition. This congregation is also unique as it serves as central point for Christian fellowship, leadership training/retraining, Evangelism, as well as playing significant roles in developing of both the spiritual, physical and social life of an individual.

In addiction to the aforementioned, the Church is also known for it New testament based teaching oriented. Here, unwavering biblical efforts and principles are been made their point of focus coupled with the provision of adequate facilities and equipment which plays significant roles in worship and Evangelism as will be unravelled as we go down the lane.

It is widely known that the Church of Christ is always identified by its autonomous nature and the basis of being rooted In the restoration of the New testament Christianity. Thus, emphazing total and complete adherence to Sound biblical teachings without the application of any man-made doctrines or creeds.

The Church of Christ, No. 1 was built as The Qua Iboe Church and later changed to Nazareth Church before it was converted to The Church of Christ, No 1 Ukpom, Abak in the year 1954.

The Church of Christ, No.1 Ukpom Abak follows this principle strictly, ensuring that all aspects of the worship, leadership, and doctrinal principles are tied closely to the Bible. Among the beliefs of the Church include; weekly observance of the Lord's communion, believe on one baptism via immersion, men leadership, use of acapella music and not instrument to mention but a few.

It is worthy to mention that Ukpom, Abak being the home of This congregation, also houses the world popular first Bible College in West Africa, Nigerian Christian Bible College (NCBC). The position of this Church is greatly influenced by the presence of this preachers training college, NCBC. The relationship between the institution and the congregation is a mutual one as the congregation benefits from the college via the training of preachers and the college benefits as the congregation contributes in supporting the school existence.

The Church of Christ, No 1 Ukpom Abak, Abak has several facilities and equipment which helps the church in the smooth running of their worship activities, Evangelism and community outreach. It is worthy to acknowledge that these facilities do not also contribute to the church activities, but influences the overall growth of the Church. Under this section, we will be talking about The following facilities;

Water Supply:
Taking into consideration the importance of clean water to human, the Church makes water a priority and provides bore hole which inturns plays significant roles in the availability of clean water for both worship and daily activities. It is worthy to mention that this clean water provided by the Church serves both the Church and the community at large.

The present of this water ensures that members, visitors and other interested personnel have access to clean and portable water.

Electricity and Lighting:
Since Ukpom is a local community with Little or minimal source of electricity, the Church is fully equipped with a leister engine which powers the church during power failure.

In addition to the leister system, the Church also own a smaller generator and all of these are always used during Bible study, prayer meetings and other church activities so as to create a conducive environment for spiritual activities and formation.

Sound System
Considering the size of the Church, there's need for sound system so as to ensure that everyone is being carried along during the Church activities.

Amplifier and mixer

This sound system include speakers, Microphones and amplifiers which helps in singing, preaching and in prayers session.

Preacher’s Quarter:
The Church of Christ are also known for always having a resident minister who lives within the Church premises so as to ensure that the administrative functions of the Church is being handled appropriately.

With this, the Church provides accomodations for their preacher so as to enable the Church move smoothly on grounds of edification, spiritual guidance, counselling and other Ministerial obligations. This house is well equipped with good equipment to facilitate his duties.

Car Park:

Since some of the Church members come from a long distance, that arises the need to drive with their cars or motorcycles, the Church creates and avenue where members park their means of mobility under the auspicious of the church securities.

This car park enables and easy and free movement within the Church premises as order and ease of movement is prioritized.

Projector System:
The Church projector and laptop are always an effective instructional resources which enhances the smooth running of the church activities especially on the grounds of teaching and singing. This projector is used to project songs and teaching during church activities.

Fans and Ventilation:
To enhance ventilation, the church has well equipped fans which are installed in strategic positions in the Church building.

These fans makes the Church a comfortable place during worship service especially during the dry season where the weather is always extremely hot

Pulpit and Worship Space:
Pulpit refers to an elevated platform in the church where Officiators stands to moderate and teach. Here, in Church of Christ No1 Ukpom Abak, there's an elevated platform where song leaders, preachers and other Officiators. This pulpit is decorated with flowers and the church collection box and preaching stand is always kept here as well.

The Elders and the Church secretary also have a position on the pulpit.

In addition to this pulpit, the church is well spacious providing the accomodations of a large congregation, ensuring that all members have a good view of whatever is going on in the pulpit.

Farmland of the Church
Considering the fact that the church is located in a rural area, there's is a big farm land which contributes meaningfully to the source of food and financial support for the congregation.

This farmland is always managed by both the Church and the preacher in planting crops such as; cassava, vegetables, and other plants

Worships at the Church of Christ, No.1 Ukpom Abak, Abak Local Government Area follow the new Testament pattern of service. These are scheduled on different days as follows:

On Sundays, the service comes in a different dimension but at a fixed direction. Here, members meet and the activities ranges from Singing, prayers, teaching, preaching, offering, communion and announcements. These items makes up the worship session of the Church. Here, the Church places a strong emphasis onnsound Biblical teachings rooted in the scriptures and highly applicable to our everyday life.

The Church of Christ No 1 Ukpom Abak also makes Evangelism their priority. Here regular evangelical works such as Youth's seminar, house to house evangelism, men seminar, women seminar and house to house evangelism are ways of achieving this mandate.
