RE: Expectation of Me Should Be Lowered Even Though I Hate to Admit That I'm Stupid
“What doesn't kill us, makes us stronger.”
Words can sometimes be more hurtful than any physical blow, they are like sharp blades that stick deep in our being, in our memory... Unforgettable. Hardly anyone remembers anything a teacher said to them at that age, and that is why they are still there: intact, indelible.
There are people who have that capacity to be remembered, and not precisely for the good things they did. It is so easy to persuade someone by making him understand that it is important what others think of you, but what you yourself think of you, if you are good or bad and if you can give more because in the end what matters is what you think of yourself, that is something that helps to build self-esteem, to form your character and to protect you mentally from those who try to damage your morale.
Sometimes you have to think before you say things, because as I said before, it is possible that sometimes these words are more hurtful than any blow.
That's why it's just as you say: it's letting people think you're stupid, because in the end, they'll think what they want to think.
I've always believed that high expectations do more harm than good.
