It's not a matter of one or two comments, if that were the case, everyone would reply to the comments quickly. We need a lot of time to read and then reply to the comments.
And we also have to work extra hard because we have to use a translator. So we lack extra time for comments.

We both know that many don't read, and a skilled reader reads faster or takes the most important part. If it's not a matter of one or two comment,s how come no one writes a comment? What is the point in posting twice per day if you cannot be upvoted because VP is low and if the same person keeps upvoting you s/he will be punished with a low CSI.

Indeed we do lack time to write.. it is hard to do both, and like you I have to translate as and deal with lack of time. It's not that I don't have a private life, or no job. We proved it can be done but only under certain conditions and if we comment, we receive more comments, there's more to read and reply on. The solution? Stop writing on certain days or stop commenting and let Steemit die since a platform without comments will die. If we all would write 3-4 good ones per day, and by all I mean everyone using Steemit, the platform would look complete different.

So I ask you: shouldn't commenting be rewarded if that's the most important thing to keep this platform alive?

Comments should also be rewarded. If people just keep writing and don't comment, then there is no point in writing. Comments are the only way to create discussion, people stay connected to each other and the platform remains active. Therefore, comments should be considered as important as the post. And they should also be rewarded so that people are more involved in commenting.
