A Call From..?

Greetings everyone,

Today, I am writing a short story.. Without any delays:-

Last weekend was the most interesting one of all. It was a bit scary at first.. But, thinking about it over and over again made it easier. Which is ironic. Because, whenever that happens it never used to get easier before. There he was, Mr. George, thinking again.. believing that he is changing or better said, getting older.. It is since this moment. The moment that he realized that he is a better version of himself now than he used to be before.. Or is he?

To cut to the chase, last weekend, he had a dream.. A dream where he met his younger self. He tried to make a conversation. But, the scene in the dream was fading away to another scene. He felt like he had a lot to say. But, couldn't say a word. The very next morning, the phone wrong. George was on his bed, late to wake up again. But, he rarely receives calls in the morning. It seemed important, he said! He jumped from bed and try to move as fast as he could since he just woke up. But, couldn't reach there on time.

I will just wait for them to call again, he said. He waited and waited. Then, he decided to make breakfast. As soon as he went far from the phone. It rang again! He left everything that he was doing and ran back to the phone. Luckily, he reached there on time. He answered, and it was a lady.. He doesn't know her. He asked if she was the one who called earlier and she was. But, it turned out that it was a wrong number after all.

Wrong number or not.. one can still have a good chat. It reminds me of years ago when lonely people did call a number and hoped for a chat. Strange that we no longer have that or it moved to the chatboxes on the internet.

A good story, you are getting stronger.

I can't say that is not true. LOL.. It might be a nice conversation at the end. But, one thing for sure. One would be uncomfortable at the beginning. More likely, it is not the caller. But, the one receiving that call.

I had a different ending in mind to the story. But, while I was writing, I thought, why not make it this way.. It turned out fine.

Sounds like the perfect freewrite. You have one thing in mind and while writing your brains comes up with something else.

The last looon phone talk I had was with a guy who tried to sell something I didn't need. We had a super long talk about everything except why he called. The funny thing was that he said before I ended the call that I was one of the few friendly people he met since most hang up immediately (usually I do too).

Sounds like the perfect freewrite

Well, I don't know how good that can be on every post. Because, sometimes when I deviate from what I had in mind, I end up writing entirely different thing and sometimes it does not make sense in the middle. Therefore, I just delete that.

LOL.. I didn't have an awkward phone conversation in a long time.

Good effort by you. You have come in full form like a good writer. Like a good team, we will complete this program. Hard work and dedication are very important to achieve our target. And that hard work is visible in you. Good luck for this contest.
Have a good day.

Thanks for the compliment buddy.

This was not a part of # miner-wewrite contest. But, it is definitely fun to join in, in Freewriters contests. By the way, I have completed the "short film review" thing. You can check my post if you need a sample (just go to Knack4Buzz latest posts, it will be there)..

And it ends just like that, as the reader begins to find enjoyment and become emotionally involved in the story. The story is good, but the decision to stop it is just like that:

NOT GOOD! 😅

Hoever, thanks. I like it.

Come on.. The ending is the best part. LOL..

I was hoping that this would be an interesting story to read. Plus, if the ending of the story was expected, then, there is no need to comment. I am actually glad to see that "NOT GOOD!" in your comment. It means that it was unexpected. LOL..

Thanks for passing by,
