RE: They are the brave ones

Venezuela is a very rich country, it is and will continue to be. That is why it is so loved by many who need to source from it.

My people have risen up many times and have had many human losses. We do not want that, that is why we went to a free vote and we are hopeful that now in a legal way our wishes can be enforced.
We don't want more dead people, we just want to live and be free.

I do understand that, and remember we had our own revolution here in Portugal in my lifetime, so, there can be no more simpathy towards those feelings than the one I have. I do wish you succeed in that legal path, though I have extreme doubts that you'll be successful in that endeavor.
I wish you all the best and will continue to give all my support to yours, and all causes that are in the direction of liberty, fraternity and solidarity and the liberation from oppression.
Your friend,
Pedro

P.S. También te digo que admiro tu coragen por hablar tan abiertamente sobre eso. Saludos.

How about the rest being in war now and suffering? How far reaches your support?

You wouldn't imagine. I really don't discuss my life in public forae, still, let me tell you: OTAN and UN peacekeeping, volunteering to medical aid in refugee camps, participating in political campaigns towards the liberation of oppressed peoples... Been there, done that. I'm too old to ever do it again. I am also an active voice in defending what I stand for, so, I guess you can say that my support has reached further than it does today, but anyway, I still go way beyond than what's healthy for me.

As long as I do not incite hatred, there are no problems. I don't want wars, I don't want deaths, you know what I want.

You live in Portugal? I am Portuguese because of my parents. They were immigrants during the wars in their own country. They came to this country and raised their children. Now my son and I have the nationality of my parents. I have never been able to travel and know Madeira, the island of my parents.

Yes, I live in Portugal, close to Lisbon, and I know Madeira. It's a beautiful island. Got some friends there and from there too.
I have some friends from the Island of Madeira that live in Aruba, a Dutch island on the coast of Venezuela. They used to have a radio program out of Aruba Store for portuguese people all around the caribbean on Sunday's in the Afternoon. Maybe you happened to listen to it sometime. I can't really remember the frequency. He used to play portuguese music... But then, that might have been more a thing for your parents, because you probably were raised in full integretion in Venezuelan society. I also have a very good friend who used to own a couple of fruit plantations close to Maracaibo, named Antonio Moreno, but I lost track of him during the Chavez goverment. I hope someday I'll visit him again. It's cool to have your roots in different countries, myself, I also originate in other places, I am a Portuguese that feels European.
I'm curious... Did your parents teach how to speak portuguese? Did you pass it on to your son?

I learned with them, my parents, some things in Portuguese that I don't forget. When I was with my family I understood it perfectly but I don't practice it so I forget it. Reading it also comes easy to me but I can't hold a conversation because I don't master it.

I'm glad you live there, it's a pleasure to meet people from all over the world on this platform.

Yes. That's very good. It's nice to know that you canread portuguese. It's very close to spanish and I think, mutually compreensible in writing. Have an excellent day.
Cheers.

Trump needs sources and will take it like he will everywhere Europe included

Migrations occur everywhere in the world. People flee their lives in search of betterment, not knowing what is to come. Very soon immigrants will also leave the U.S. thanks to the policies of their government. People who believe that their living conditions will change significantly will leave that country.

I can only say that my prayers will continue for all of them, I don't care where they are from.

If everyone leaves the question is: where will they go to? It's like you wrote it's rarely what they expect from it.
