I will not be referring to this catfish as an animal but the concept of catfishing.

A catfish is someone who sets up a fake online profile to trick people who are looking for love, usually to get money out of them. Link

The first time I saw the concept of catfishing was a movie I saw about a girl who met her dream guy online, after about 6 months of talking online they still have not seen each other. He keeps making excuses for not being able to do a video call. In the end she found out he was catfishing her, it's quite the concept.

This is really rampart in our day. People get catfished not only for love but also for money. Some get scammed and they lose their money in the process. Which is why we need to be careful especially when we meet someone strange online.

Thank you for your time...

This also happens in the offline life and the other way around. Let's not pretend girls/women do not rip off men. In every tourist place you will find men and women sliming, bragging, speaking about love, blah blah blah with only one goal: money.

There are many videos on YouTube where catfishes are caught and what always surprises me is how easily people fall for a friendly word but most of all how easy it is to catch a catfish! Men are those people aggressive.

Some people just seek comfort, they need someone they can rely on. This gives the scammers an advantage to rip them off.

And as you have said, it can be from a male or a female.

Loneliness and being caught if you are most vulnerable and it all leads to low self-esteem. I do wonder how those scammers feel. No regret that's clear after I saw a video how to trick people.

Greed has made them blind to pity those helpless, some folks are just selfish.

The more reason why we need to be careful.
