Cool, plum or large scientific name Ziziphus zizyphus. The fruit of the most common, thorny tree in South Asia. In English it is commonly referred to as Jujube or Chinese date. Almost everywhere in Bangladesh, plum trees grow in all types of soils. Slightly oval plums are commonly referred to as "cool". Plum trees are small to medium sized shrubs. The normal height of plum tree is 12-13 meters. This tree is naturally leafy, that is, leaves fall in winter and new leaves come in spring. The branches of the plum tree are upward. In September-October of the year the tree flowers in season. Fruits in winter. Fruits round, small to medium. The fruit is small in size, about 2.5 cm. When the fruit ripens, the color changes from yellow to red. Both raw and ripe plums are eaten. The taste is sour and raw. Plums can be dried in the sun and stored. Chutney is prepared by drying ripe plums
