My former high school mates and I

It was my first official outing since the year began.

For the past five months, my life has been like a triangle. From work to school. Then, home and back to work again.

Work → School → Home

I have been moving like a pendulum.

So, when I received an invitation to attend my high school mate’s father's funeral service earlier in the week, I knew it was time for a change.

THE HIGHWAY FEELING

Initially, I felt uncomfortable traveling about 29 kilometres to an unknown village. With the rise of insecurity and kidnappings, one would naturally feel safe in their natural habitat.

However, my girlfriend promised to accompany me. It was her subtle way of saying that she will come to “keep me safe”.

What I encountered was more like a high-school reunion.

I met classmates I hadn't seen in over eight years.

Do you know how happy I felt?

After consoling our former classmate, we spent the remaining hours recollecting good old memories. I discovered that two of my classmates had moved out of the state.

Over 70% were married.

The remaining few singles are doing incredibly well in their various endeavours.

I exerted about 90% of my social energy. It will take another 3+ months to get all of it back. Lol.

Whatever made me laugh so hard must be really good

What's the beauty of photography without some unawares?

Nonetheless, I am excited to have met these awesome people again. Every second spent with them brought back so many lovely memories I wish I could hold on to forever.

Shared Memories

For the greater part of the event, my mind reflected on the value of creating memories, whether good or bad.

Shared memories strengthen our bond with others. Money can't buy this.

I thought of the many times I get carried away by work and home chores. I wondered how often I pause to take in the fresh, God-given air. How often do I pause to notice how beautiful the flowers bloom?

For someone who is extremely consumed with my personal development, I felt the longing to step out some more.

This is my key takeaway from this experience:

To build more memories this remaining 7 months of the year and always.

If you are like me, maybe it is time to slow down and create more memories as well.

I am saving this here. Hoping to look back at it in the coming years. Special invitation goes to @khayjhay, @yhudy, and @chilaw

Being with our friends is indeed a great feeling. We feel relax and we tend to forget all our husstles at home. We were able tinpause for a moment and enjoy life.

Exactly!
I didn't know I was having so much fun until it was time to go home. Then I began to miss everyone so badly.

Interacting with people face-to-face hits better than some online chats.

Bendiciones.

True.
I'm glad I was able to meet my former classmates. The colleague who invited us was so excited to see us. I was amazed that that simple gesture could mean so much to him.

It made me value creating more valuable memories. No more living life in triangles and circles.

Thank you for sharing your thoughts on this.
