You deserve what you dream of

I believe every single human living is a dreamer, with just the hope of seeing a better tomorrow you are a dreamer. So then, do I consider myself a dreamer? Stick around to find out that and more.
What advice would you give the public who may have lost something or someone precious to them? |

Who is a dreamer? one may ask. Is it someone who sleeps and sees things (dreaming) or someone who sits wide awake but sees things (day-dreaming)? Well, let's learn who is a dreamer.
A dreamer in this context is someone who is not afraid to imagine a world beyond what he or she is seeing right in front of them. That is, dreamers are like explorers who venture into uncharted territories of their minds, then crafting fantastical worlds, and envisioning possibilities that others might dismiss as unrealistic. In simple terms, dreamers are those of us who are driven by a deep-seated belief that anything is possible, even if it seems impossible at first glance.

Now, if I consider myself a dreamer? Oh Yes! I do. I have always been a dreamer even from those days when when I was a kid. I'm sure most of had experiences were we spend hours building elaborate castles out of blocks, or creating stories with imaginary friends? That is the dreamer in us shining through even though we had no idea of what the world was or will be, we have always had that spark of curiosity in us, that thirst for adventure, and a desire to see the world through a lens of wonder.
And I can tell you that even now, I am still dreaming of a better future for myself and my loved ones, whether it is about setting ambitious goals for myself, imagining a future filled with exciting possibilities, or simply finding beauty in my day to day life. I know that my dreams are a reflection of my will, a testament to my unwavering belief in the power of imagination.
What anecdotes do you remember about that dream you achieved? |

When I finally moved into my own apartment, though some may consider it small but it feels surreal, just a dream come true. I remember vividly the nights when I would lie in bed, staring at the ceiling, picturing my own space just dreaming of the perfect layout, the colors I will use to paint the walls, the furniture I can buy, not forgetting the doubts and how I could come to achieve all this, how it all felt so far away, almost impossible, but I held onto that dream with all that I had.

There were times when I doubted myself, when the weight of everything on me felt overwhelming as I had nothing but just the memories of myself who dreamed of having my own place, a space to call my very own, because I was tired of where I was at that moment. Now, it serves as a reminder that I can achieve anything I set my mind to, no matter how big or small.
Now, standing in my own apartment, surrounded by the little I have been able to gather and the joy of having my own, I can't help but smile every time I remember the struggles. Indeed, it is a reminder that dreams do come true even when they seem impossible. I'm so grateful for this moment, the people who encouraged and pushed me and for the journey that led me here, and for the self-belief I had in myself that helped me make this dream a reality.
What have been your hardest dreams to achieve? |
---|
I have had my fair share of dreams from childhood till these very moments, dreams having to finish college, get a dream, get this or that and I still dream about my tomorrow but in all that I have come to achieve, I can say without an atom of doubt that my hardest dream has been having my own place. With the cost of materials, cost of living and all it looked like a fazed dream at some point but then here I am today.
Let me tell you, indeed this was the hardest dream I've ever chased. It felt like climbing Mount Everest in flip-flops, sometimes. There were moments when I was drowning in thoughts as the funds kept drying out, unsure if I'd ever get to that finish line.
But, you know what? I wouldn't be here without some amazing individuals on and off this platform as they were my cheerleaders, my shoulder to cry on, and my source of endless motivation. On this platform the likes of @ruthjoe who was always behind me, then there was @patjewell and @ngoenyi who I would always run to for advice when I hit a stumbling block. I can remember how ruthjoe was pushing me onto making publications about it on this platform so that I can stand the chance of earning support from the big accounts and I will keep telling her, I don't want it to look like a charity case.
So at some point when the going was tough, I had to downpower my Steem to provide me with the financial support I desperately needed to make this dream a reality even though I had sacrificed my positions of being a moderator in some communities I was working with.

Now, looking around my apartment, I can't help but feel a surge of pride even after all the sacrifices I have made. This indeed is a testament to my perseverance, my incredible friends, and the power of dreaming for a better tomorrow. This wasn't just about finding a place to live, it was about proving to myself that I could achieve something even under challenges.
What do you think of the phrase, "The only thing you don't deserve is what you don't try for? |
---|
The truth is, if you never tried, you will never know the outcome so yes I think it's a pretty powerful statement, it is saying that, "If you want something, go get it". Therefore, serving as a reminder that if we are not willing to put in the effort, we don't have the right to outcome.
But then, it is also important to remember that it is not always about "deserving" things, because sometimes, it is all about working hard, learning from our mistakes, and being open to opportunities. Therefore, it is all about having the courage to chase our dreams, even when things get tough.
I want to take this opportunity to invite @saintkelvin17, @ikwal and @dorismos.
