Hello Everyone
This is @max-pro from, #Bangladesh

Assalamu Alaikum everyone. Hello dear friends, how are you all? I hope everyone is well by the grace of Allah. By the grace of Allah, I am also very well. Today I have brought a competition post to participate in a competition. Steemit Challenge Season 24 is already underway. Each of the challenges running in the first week are very wonderful. So I have come to participate in one of them. Its topic is "SLC-S24/W1 - Tangled Emotion | The Powerful Conversation". So this is a very wonderful contest. Here are some important questions. I am ready to answer the questions of the second series here. So let's start, stay with me.

Task of Powerful Debate (Shopkeeper & Customer)

When we go to the market, we often bargain with the shopkeeper. This bargaining is actually a kind of discussion or a verbal battle. Where one wants to buy something at a lower price and the other wants to sell it at a higher price.

This verbal battle is called a powerful debate here. This debate is not just about reducing or increasing money, it involves intelligence, laughter, logic and sometimes emotions. Through this saying, we try to understand who is right and who is wrong. Should bargaining be done? Where should the line be drawn? I will clarify with an example to explain in more detail.

One afternoon, I went to buy a hoodie at Tangail Diamond Market. The shopkeeper's eyes were filled with a lazy afternoon, and mine were filled with the thrill of buying something new.

Seller :- The hoodie's price was 950 taka.

I remained silent for a while, as if seriously considering whether to buy the hoodie or go home and eat dal and rice. I smiled a little and said,

Buyer (Max-pro) :- Brother, will you give me 450?

The shopkeeper responded immediately, Brother, will I not make a profit? Then the bargaining game began.

There was a gentle smile on my face, a request in my eyes, and a little juice in my words. The shopkeeper also started to soften.

Finally, the hoodie went into the bag for 650 taka.

This little experience was like a play. A combination of emotions, logic, and humor on both sides. On one side, the buyer's attempt to save money, and on the other, the shopkeeper's attempt to protect his profit. Bargaining is not just about money, but it is a perfect balance of communication, understanding, and mutual respect. When both of them part with a smile, it is understood that this debate was successful.

1. Have you ever successfully bargained your way to a great deal?

Yes, I have been successful in bargaining several times. The most memorable example of this was in Mirpur, Dhaka. A beautiful pair of shoes caught my eye.

The shopkeeper said BDT 3500 (local taka) Or 233 STEEM.

I looked at it coldly and said, Brother, this is out of my budget,

I will take it for 1250 Taka or 83 STEEM.

The shopkeeper then looked at me with a slight disdain and said, Brother, if it was that low, I would have bought two myself. I smiled and said, Then give me one and keep the other. At that moment, the shopkeeper laughed. We discussed where our own homes were. A kind of friendly connection developed between our conversations.

In the end, I got the bag for 1500 taka or 100 STEEM.

I believe that if you know how to joke while bargaining and can maintain your position while being polite, that is the biggest trick. Not only can you reduce the price, but you can also win people's hearts.

2. Do you believe it's fair to negotiate prices in local or small shops?

The answer to this question is very complicated for me. Small shopkeepers often work hard from dawn to dusk. They pour their capital, labor, time, and emotions into every product in the shop. However, as a buyer, I also want to buy something good within my budget.

It is very important to bring balance between these two sides. I never want to interfere with the shopkeeper's main profit, but if I see that he is selling something at an excessive price, I bargain a little.

In my opinion, bargaining is fair only when it is done with respect and understanding of each other's situation. It should not be a tense war, but a peaceful solution through sweet talk.

3. What is your strategy when you ask for a discount?

My strategy for asking for discounts is not at all like a war, but rather a little humor, a little laughter and a little spiritual connection. I never say with a serious face, Don't reduce the price, brother.

Instead, I say, Brother, if I come to your shop and you don't give me a discount, how will I feel that you consider me your friend? saying this, I laugh a little. The shopkeeper is surprised at first, then he starts laughing. Then a relationship is formed. I have a special friendship with him. This gentle smile, sincerity and the quality of his words are what get me discounts most of the time.

4. What is the most unexpected or hilarious response you have ever heard from a shopkeeper?

Once I went to Dhaka Farmgate to buy a winter jacket. The jacket was priced at 1600 taka. I said, Brother, I'll take it if you give me 900 taka.

The shopkeeper was silent for a while and said, Brother, if you reduce it this much, my home internet bill will be deducted. I smiled and said, Then give me a discount, I'll give you a mobile hotspot. 🤭

At that, we both laughed so much that other shoppers around us were also looking on. Finally, he said, Brother, you're winning my heart. Take it and give me 1,050 taka. Moments like this are not just bargaining, but they create a kind of human connection with people. This incident seemed most unexpected.

5. In a pricing debate, who do you usually support the customer looking for value or the shopkeeper trying to survive?

1000024694.jpgSource Pixabay

I stand in the middle of both sides. Let's say I am a teacher myself and I feel how hard it is for people in a small profession like teaching to meet their daily expenses. So as a consumer, I understand the need for savings. Because I always like to buy products cheaply.

Again, small shopkeepers also live on a limited income. So my approach is to be fair to both. I think this idea of balance came from personal experience. From a policy perspective, I also believe that the real solution is where both parties are happy. For this, we always have to work with logical thinking in mind.

A FEW WORDS IN CONCLUSION

Bargaining between a shopkeeper and a customer is not just a transaction but a form of human communication where logic, emotion and intelligence come together. This debate teaches us how to politely present our demands and understand the other person's position. If the right boundaries are followed, this bargaining can be a pleasant and fair experience that is satisfying for both parties.

So it was a very important and educational competition where we were able to present our opinions openly. So I am Inviting my lovely Steemian friends @suboohi, @ulfatulrahmah, @kouba01, @selina1, @edgargonzalez to Participate in this Steemit challenge.

Saludos.
