Although the country is small, its beauty is amazing. Today I hope to share with you about the beautiful places and cultural elements of my country. My small country, known as the Pearl of the Indian Ocean, is a small island surrounded by the sea. Therefore, a very beautiful coastline surrounds the country.

This is an agricultural country. Sri Lanka is divided into 9 provinces, including 25 districts. The capital of Sri Lanka is Sri Jayewardenepura Kotte. My country has a population of over 20 million. The commercial capital is Colombo. Sri Lanka has several communities: Sinhalese, Tamil, Muslim and Burgher. The official languages ​​of the state are Sinhala, Tamil and English. The highest mountain in Sri Lanka is Piduruthalagala Mountain, the longest river is Mahaweli, the national bird is the Sri Lankan junglefowl.The national tree is the "na" tree. The national animal is the grizzled giant squirrel.national flower is the blue lotus. The main religion is Buddhism. In addition, Hinduism, Catholicism, Islam, etc. are also practiced.

Tea, coconut, and rubber are the main agricultural export crops in Sri Lanka. In addition, many other agricultural products are exported.

Sri Lanka has a variety of climatic conditions. Many tourists come to Sri Lanka to see its natural beauty. It has a large number of waterfalls, rivers, and mountains.

There are many places that attract tourists to Sri Lanka. I would like to bring you a few of them.
This bridge is located between the two railway stations of Ella and Demodara. The only raw material used in the construction of this bridge is hard black stone. It is built by connecting two mountain ranges. It is called the "nine arch bridge" because it has 9 arches.

Sigiriya is a magnificent palace built on a rock. It was chosen by King Kassapa as his kingdom in 477-495 AD, and the exact time of its construction is still unknown. Sigiriya is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. It is also considered the 8th wonder of the world. A large and beautiful garden has also been built around Sigiriya. The water fountains that operate automatically using the water pressure system are still in operation today. There was a technology for taking water up the mountain and a technology for lifting goods up. There are ruins of the old palace spread over an area of ​​3 acres in the rock. This should be discussed separately. There is so much information. Another tourist attraction in Sri Lanka is the national parks. In a 4-hour jeep ride, you can see birds, elephants, crocodiles, leopards, tortoises, deer and many other animals roaming the forest. You can enjoy their beautiful environment. The Temple of the Tooth, which houses the left tooth relic of the Buddha, is the supreme symbol of the Sinhalese nation and the Buddhist religion. It has been designated a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. An annual procession is held here. This procession began in 1753, stopped in between, and has been held every year since 1823. This procession is a cultural festival of unique value in Sri Lanka.

The most important cultural festival in Sri Lanka, the Sinhala and Hindu New Year, is celebrated on the day when the sun moves from Pisces to Aries according to the zodiac. This date falls on April 13 or 14 every year. It is based on the sun. Buddhists and Hindus celebrate it in two different ways and perform rituals that are unique to them. There are also subtle differences in the rituals depending on the region.

Vesak festival, Poson festival, etc. are other festivals celebrated in Sri Lanka. In addition, there are many beautiful cultural dances, dramas, and traditional arts such as mask art, puppetry, and Angampora, which are unique to Sri Lanka. Also, foreign tourists come in large numbers because of the natural beauty of my country. Although there is much more to say, I have decided to stop here.
