I'll tell you that for me, when people fall, it's no laughing matter. I'm one of those endangered species who stops to help someone who has fallen. Together, the embarrassment is lessened. The feeling I get at that moment for the person involved is one of great sadness. I can't laugh. And I give them my hand. It's not that I'm holding back laughter, it's that I don't find it funny at all, only sad because of their suffering.
