RE: Comment contest: Comment affairs #15 and results for #14
Fear of the unknown.
When I was a kid, when I am sent to pick something in a dark place or stay in a dark house, I'll be scared. I'll begin to think of a strange thing staying in the same room with me. To make it worse, my aunt, my dad's only sister would begin to make some strange sounds that would make me faint in my imagination.
I thought all these happened because I was in the village. Do you know my children living in the city do the same thing? Whenever I sent my son to get me something in the room in the day time, not even at night, he'll just stop on the way and tell me, "mum, I've not seen it." Then when I ask him to get something in a dark place, he will refuse to go.
His actions and that of the little sister makes me smile within and confess within myself, "this is what I used to do when I was a child." And I will smile.
Hello @nsisong2022, @beevicsam and @joan-na how was your childhood experience with a dark room/place like? I hope your children won't be like you?
