On New Year's Eve, which happened to be the 31st of December 2024, as usual, it was no ordinary night as I spent it in church filled with lots of gratitude for the year and beautiful anticipations for 2025.
As the one-hour countdown began, my pastor, in his wisdom, urged us to stay focused and to pray our way into the new year. He even made sure the wall clocks were unhanged and set aside to avoid distractions. I prayed fervently, declaring positivity and asking for blessings even as I set out to work better and smarter this year.
My pastor signaled us at the stroke of midnight and I joined the church with a joyous chorus and a voice of triumph to say my first wish for the year, "Happy New Year" (a loud and genuine wish for a fresh start, hope and abundance). I hugged a friend who had become a close sister over the year with tears in my eyes, and we stayed for long because she could relate to the happenings in my life word for word.
I moved around to other brethern and wished them beautifully and positively for the year. I also sent out messages and calls to loved ones after church service.
My wishes for this community and Steemit at large is "In this new year, may we enjoy every bit of it in good health, love, peace and joy. And may all our labour bring us beautiful success.

Because I know so many friends in need of a good relationship with their surround, their families, their friends and of course they also need to think of having a beloved one like mine 😁.
Right after the first fireworks explosion, I was looking for Pedro, he's hiding under the table in the kitchen as prevention. He knows I'll tease him. But then I was told that all cats and dogs are afraid of fireworks explosion 😓 my bad.
My poor Pedro 😔 I wish I never scared him with new year excitement next year.

Although it is hilarious, I feel sad for Pedro. It reminds me of our dog bullet that year. He disappeared too during the fireworks and was found under the table in the living room. We could not imagine how he would have been brave if there were real gunshots, but bullet was always adorable.
I never know that cats and dogs don't like fireworks 😔 I thought because there's dog that serves in the police/army.. they're all the same. Poor Bullet, just like us.. not everyone loves fireworks too.

I wonder if animals love us and if "love" isn't a word only humans use although there are many different ways cultures express the "I love you". I like the "I like you" also.

It surprises me that you didn't know that animals (not only dogs and cats) are afraid of fireworks. Already the fact that they hear way better than we should say enough. Our beloved live the entire way in the noise we make and for many there's no way to escape.
Police dogs are trained, just like those hunters use and some races are easier than others and there are dogs who are never suitable as a hunting dog and will always be scared of the noise (this can also be for the thunder!).

I never know until someone in south Africa reminds me about animals doesn't really love fireworks like human do. I don't know why am I so silly. I made a compilation news about animals death everywhere around the world after the celebration of Y2K 😥🥲 I regret that now.
We all learn and you learned something and your pet is lucky because he can hide unlike many other animals. There are also many pets afraid of thunder and lightning not because something bad happened to them but because of the response of the owner (who is scared) which reminds me of a stayover at the house of a schoolmate at primary school. As there was a thunder and we all slept the mother woke us up and we had to sit around the kitchen table and play games. She did make hot cocoa but I found it weird and I rather continued to sleep. That girl said her mother always did that so she triggers certain behaviour just like many do with their pets.
I had a shelter for problematic animals - behaviour and seriously ill in most cases it was due to the owner.
That's bad 🥲 I think I did add something to Pedro's behavior against me. But I'm not his owner, I'm his slave after all 🤣🤣 I volunteered myself to his.
So, if a cat become a vegan cat, it must be because of the owner. Just like human.. they develop habit because of certain situations they grow up with
We all are the servants of our cats. Good to open en close doors, to clean up, drag them off the fridge, out of the bathroom...
This morning my son told me his cat had blood in the litter box again. I cleaned it up because he had to leave. The cat looked a bit depressed but later on he was wrecking the place and now he sleeps at my son's lap. I didn't see blood again. No idea why he has that every few days. At least he is happy and begs for food again which before made him gag no matter what we tried (now he has candies with ? and coconut).
With us more and more animals are fed vegan which isn't good. Cats are predators more than dogs and need taurine which is important for the function of the hearth and nerve system. For sure your vegan cat will have it's portion of meat (bug, fly, or an ants) and yes, they adapt certain behaviour and so do we. Cats have a habit of training people. 🤣
😱🥹 coconut😲 that's hilarious. I was feeding them with rice and boiled fish. Lemon and Menlu is fine, but Pedro? He spit it out on my father-in-law's coach 🤦

yes now it's coconut but they also add carrots and spinach. It's not what cats should eat.
Ours is not that old but has kidney failure for some reason. I believe he felt miserable for a year.
All our cats are trained like dogs. The always walked along if we let the dogs out but this one can't because the wolfs I have a clumsy and the my son's cat isn't the smartest. He likes to drive in the car my son says after they visited the vet but now it gives him stress because of vet experiences.
He always ate pancakes though, the last one and fish but as he was seriously ill a few weeks ago everything made him gag already as he smelled it. Now he started eating again, I hope he will live longer because my son is very attached to him. He doesn't catch mice, rats or birds, the dogs do also hedgehodges and snakes.
Well, if the cat has 18 lives he has a few more left but I really hope no more vet visits because they are very expensive and I still don't know what they did (I doubt they know it) and all those meds they gave the cat never wanted. There were pills with the size of over 2 cms tall. How to make a cat swallow that?
Happy New Year to us all... Last year has been a tough year for me. I thank God for seeing me through the tough moments. He has been my anchor all through my journey from last year January till December.
I did my crossover in church. The moment the clock hit 12am, January 1st, 2025, I quietly knelt down, gave God thanks and said a short prayer. The prayer was in respect to one of my goals for the year 2025.
I prayed a silent prayer and wished I will own a piece of land this year 2025. It's a land I hope to develop and have my own personal space. High cost of house rents is becoming unbearable. Having my own space will relief me of this financial burden.
I know it's not going to be easy. I already have my blue print mapped out. I will work towards that. With God on my side, it will end in praise and I'll come back here to give a testimony.
I truly hope you can realize this. With us own land is expensive and building a house isn't easy or even allowed. Rules, laws and every step has a price tag.

Mehn..., the road to success is rough and tough. My country permits we build our own homes but building plans have to be adhered to. The process is not easy but It's achievable.

Building plans should be permitted and paid for and whatever you build should fit to what already has been build plus it is a risk since the government is free to confiscate your property if they feel to it or want to build something else.
