I agree with this. If it works and servers its purpose why would one have to look for an alternative?
It is only that some browsers have specific extensions that the user might need.
And here you hit the nail. If you need that extension or a certain app or are forced to use a certain site (government) you are forced to use the browser you don't want, which gives all monopoly in the hands of one person...
