No one is extremely calm or rude, but people develop or choose to be calm or rude based on the environment they find themselves in or how they think it would be easy for them to get what they want in life. Generally, we all know that staying calm is far better than acting rude, both for our well-being and for the outcome of a situation, but the issue we normally face when trying to be calm is the issue of being look (seen) as a weak person.

A lot of people who were calm before suddenly changed because of what they got from society, and many who were also rude have also changed their way of life because of what they have experienced in life. However, in life, it is good for someone who is a leader to have the right habits because calm leaders or people are always being controlled or seen as weak people, whereas rude leaders people are afraid of him or her. However, let's take a quick look at why you should choose to stay calm or become rude.

Staying Calm

Generally, in life, staying calm is good as it brings positive changes in our society. Below are the reasons why I think it is good to stay calm in every situation.

  • You stay in control of yourself: Staying Calm helps you to think clearly and make smart decisions.

  • You earn respect from others: In our society, people trust and respect the people who keep their cool, most especially in tough situations.

  • It helps you feel better later: Calmness makes you less likely to regret your actions or words.

  • Calmness de-escalates conflict: Calm response helps to reduce tension and can prevent the situation from getting worse.

What we have shared are just a few reasons why one should stay calm, which is that staying calm doesn't mean being passive or too weak. You can still speak up firmly and set boundaries without you being rude.

Acting Rude

Whatever has advantages also has disadvantages which to some this kind of lifestyle is favorable whereas to some it is not. However, based on the reasons, you can decide for yourself.

  • It damages relationships: rudeness can push good people away from you or cause lasting harm.

  • Escalate problems: Rudeness can provoke anger or retaliation

  • Feel bad afterward: You may end up feeling embarrassed or guilty once your emotions are cool

  • Hurt your image: Other people may see you as a difficult or immature person.

@joseph This is a very thoughtful post. I agree that staying calm brings more respect and peace. Being rude might give short-term control, but it hurts in the long run.

Exactly and it is the reason we should know when to display either calmness or rudeness.

@josepha Yes true. We should stay calm most times but sometimes being rude is needed to protect our self respect.
