The Diary Game:in work for the family 11 January 2025
Hello everyone, how are you all tonight, I hope you are all always in the desired condition and happy. On this occasion I would like to share some of my moments today on my first day at a new job which is currently in one of the oil palm plantations in Aceh. I came last night on a motorbike from home to the factory where the workers gathered. And will go by car from the factory to a field deep in the forest. There were so many people present that four trucks came to take us all here to work.
The long journey from the factory to the workers' area takes approximately 2 hours. I and the other workers had to sit in the back of the truck for two hours without taking a break. And it makes my buttocks hurt, especially when the truck is driven fast on the assisted road.
You can see some of the other workers have just been unloaded from the truck and that's a lot. There are also women who are employed at fairly high wages and supplement their income to save later. The women line up in front of the office and they will be absent one by one there.
I was at the top of the lending to see the view stretching far away with the high mountains still shrouded in white mist. The tall mountains look beautiful up close and they are all green and spacious. It was very cold above the lending area where I was standing, especially since it was still early in the morning. The cold air in the forest, coupled with the wind coming from various directions, felt like it penetrated my bones and made me shiver.
I could no longer endure the cold weather above the lending and I was forced to go back downstairs and join those there. After a while I was under now roll call for the men had arrived and we came to quickly line up at the front to get roll call.
After all the absences were finished and a little lecture from the leadership here, we came back to get assignments for today and the next week. I got a job here in palm oil harvesting with others. Now I bring all my belongings back to move because I found a location far from the parent place. After arriving at the place given to us, the harvesters immediately got ready to carry out their duties and prepare all the equipment. Check several tools before leaving and repair them if some are damaged. Because if you are already at work, you won't have any difficulties.
The rain that fell during the harvest made me very overwhelmed because the rain fell heavily and the strong winds from various directions hit the protection of our clothes. We are very cold here and we have not finished the task. I was forced to take shelter for a while in the rain and wind to light a small fire so I could warm my body, even if only temporarily. It really cuts to the bone.
After the rain stopped a little, we now resumed our work as fruit harvesters and didn't miss anything. Not far from that, the heavy rain started to fall again. We still have to continue even in this unwelcome situation.
After all of today's harvesting tasks were completed, we all returned to the accommodation that had been provided previously. We all went home quickly so we could immediately shower and rest. All the views look beautiful but it is very cold inside.
