Dady must follow suit (Diary game, June 19th, 2024)
Last night, I came home late because mentoring 2 newcomers in the coffee shop, I still need some extra rest but during the celebration of Eid Al-Adha, I cannot get extra rest, beside Ahya came to me and asked if we can go out for shopping or leisure time together.
Busyness increased during this year's Eid al-Adha celebration, the activity especially increased due to the Qurban (sacrificial of animals such as cow, ship, goad, and camel) and cooking for the guests who came to visit our house. On the first and second days, the house was always busy with guests from the morning to the evening.
Today is the third or last day of the Eid al-Adha celebration, even though the Eid celebration atmosphere is not over yet, it is no longer as busy as the first and second days, and only one or two guests come to visit our house.
Since yesterday, Ahya has been busy asking to take her somewhere, it is because most children during Eid will go to snack shops or shopping centers for children's toys. Today I was able to go relax with them, I asked Ahya and Fatiya to get ready first. They looked very excited, even Fatiya, who was still sleeping, immediately woke up after hearing the words "Go for shopping."
My wife prepared food because they hadn't had breakfast yet. I ask the kids to eat first before going out for a walk. After they had breakfast, I asked where they wanted to go for a walk and Ahya answered firmly that she wanted to go to MR.DIY, is one of the supermarkets in Panton Labu city. This MR.DIY provides various needs, from children's toys to household necessities at affordable prices but the quality is also mediocre. But these are the places they find most interesting to visit.
Before leaving I asked what they wanted to buy there later, but Ahya didn't give a concrete answer, only answered: "We'll see what's good there later", basically she wanted to buy something but hadn't decided what to buy until they saw it later.
Around 10:10 we were ready on the motorbike to go there together. Both of them seemed very enthusiastic about going for a walk this time. I asked their opinion first, whether we would go to the coffee shop first or go straight to MR. DIY?, they answered in unison that they had to go to MR.DIY first and then to the coffee shop. OK, deal!
It was still early for a market to open and very quiet when we arrived at MR.DIY, only one person was shopping inside and a salesperson was arranging goods, other staff were probably still cleaning up behind. Ahya and Fatiya immediately went to the 2nd floor because the ground floor only sold household supplies and things that didn't interest them, while the 2nd floor was a display area for children's toys as well as painting equipment and various types of interesting colored pencils.
I let them search and see what they find most interesting without intervention, although I will later suggest they choose that are beneficial. However, allowing them to see and choose what they like best is fun for me. Moreover, Ahya and Fatiya are easily directed and willing to understand. Basically, I will just allow them to express their freedom and see the joy that radiates from their faces, it's just that simple.
Going back and forth looking at the toys neatly displayed on the shelves grow their enthusiasm to continue going around all the toy shelves in this small shop which was relatively complete for this small town. Finally, Fatiya stopped in front of a shelf selling magnetic alphabets, he immediately took two, saying she would learn to read with his sister Kudaija later at home. I just answered briefly:
Fatiya: Dedy, may I take two of these alphabets?, I want to teach Khudaija letter at home. (She is imitating the conversation in anime she often watched)
Me: Ok, fine if you like these very much, we'll buy them.
I said while imitating a conversation in one of the anime she often watched. And casually she would also answer in the same tone.
OK Dad, I'll take two of them, because Khudaija will like them too.
The saleswoman who heard our conversation was surprised and smiled. It is funny because there were small children who imitated conversations in anime seriously like that.
The anime version of the conversation continues, and Fatiya continues to look at other toys while carrying 2 sets of magnetic alphabets on the left and right. Not long after that, Ahya also took a marker she liked. However, at that time Fatiya also saw a canvas complete with colorful paint and a small brush for painting. A canvas like this is already equipped with a painting, she only needs coloring skills to make it look attractive. Fatiya took a painting of a whale swimming.
"Dad, I like this one, can I take one? I'm already big and able to color it well."
She is imitating her favorite anime and the shop assistant smiles again seeing Fatiya's nonchalantly imitating the anime conversations
"Oww, of course, you can, you have to color it well so that it can swim freely in the ocean, Dad will see it swimming with you later." I also answered while imitating an anime conversation.
After all the items were taken and there were no more changes, I took them both to come down and pay at the cashier. They look very happy because they have got what they wanted. Before leaving, I took balloons which were provided for children who entered the shopping. Seeing me take 2, Ahya the older sister also took 2 for Khudaija later so they wouldn't fight over it while playing.
Where are we going next? I asked the two of them, this time Fatiya dominated the answer.
"Of course to the coffee shop, doesn't daddy want to drink coffee?", the cashier brushes into laughter when they hear Fatiya answer me while imitating the anime conversation.
The answer seemed like the most sincere form of concern from them, but actually she wanted to drink orange juice and eat their favorite snack. LOL
Before going home we took time to go to a coffee shop near by Mr. DIY, I immediately ordered coffee and orange juice for the two of them. We just sat for a moment, and because it was almost noon we decided to go home immediately.
At home, Khudaija had already arrived and was playing alone. Seeing Fatiya's arrival he became even more enthusiastic about playing. The Magnetic Alphabet was immediately scattered on the floor and the two of them started pointing and teaching each other. Among the letters they point to, sometimes they are correct but often they are wrong, but according to them, it is the most correct answer. No one is allowed to interfere because they are playing "student teacher" and reading according to their will.
After lunch, I opened my smartphone for a moment and read several chapters of the newly updated web novel. Because the network was unstable and today the electricity also went out, I chose to rest and changed my smartphone to flight mode. I do this to be able to charge without being disturbed letter when the electricity is back on again.
But while I was relaxing, I heard Aurora screaming a little and banning something in the living room, so I tried to see what was happening. Hmmm, apparently Khudaija, for whatever reason, was making "mango dough" on the floor, her clothes and hands were covered in mango dough which she had to eat like her two older sisters.
With an innocent face, Khudaija continued making mango dough. Because she had just been scolded, she looked almost crying. I carried her to the bathroom took off her mango-stained clothes and washed her hands. With a little advice, Khudaija became calmer and didn't cry anymore. It's super daddy's turn to clean the floor and invite them to take a nap.
As usual, I took Fatiya to the swing, while Khudaija was carried by her grandmother and taken to another room to sleep. Fatiya fell asleep soundly and I slept until the afternoon. It really feels like in the last few days my body needs extra rest. After the evening prayer, I relaxed again without holding my phone and didn't realize that my cellphone was still in flight mode and of course, no one could contact me. Because I felt like no one was contacting me, I decided not to go out and continue to get enough rest tonight.
