Weekly Reflections #27: 2025 Bucket List - Travel Goals

in STEEM FOR BETTERLIFE3 days ago (edited)
I am here to take part in "Theme of the week - 2025 Bucket List - Travel Goals" by @damithudaya and I would like to invite @senehasa, @radjasalman and @uzma4882 to tell us about their travel plans.

There are many places I visit or have on my list, like Rishikesh, a city in the foothills of the Himalayas, situated on the banks of the River Ganges.

Rishikesh

I would like to tell you that Rishikesh is known as the yoga capital of the world and attracts thousands of visitors every day seeking spiritual growth, yoga training, and adventure sports. At least I go there for mental peace.

Rishikesh is one of the gateway for pilgrims visiting the CharDham, the four holy sites, the other being Kotdwar, and is known for its lovely atmosphere conducive to meditation and spiritual practices. I visit this place quite often and stay in a hotel or guest house on the banks of the river Ganges.

I will visit this place again before leaving for Australia in the month of February. This place is 4 hours drive from my current location.

My forthcoming programs:

Subathu

I would like to add here a small hill resort, Subathu, which is in Himachal Pradesh, and I am going there for the first time. I do not have any photo of this place, but I will post a photo taken from the internet of where I am going this Saturday.

I am looking forward to visiting Subathu because it has a rich historical value, especially from the English era. The British retained Subathu as a military fort.

Subathu is located in the Solan district of Himachal Pradesh, at a height of approximately 4,000 feet from sea level. I have heard a lot about picturesque locations while going to Shimla. The temperature today is in the range of 40 degrees F, around that is 5 degrees C and raining, so we have decided to go on Saturday for a few days depending on weather conditions.

Subathu offers several attractions, like Kuthar Fort, a historical site that provides insights into the region's royal heritage, and, of course, the famous temple. But I am interested in its natural beauty, the surrounding hills and forests, and opportunities for trekking and nature walks. I will give you my next travel post once I return from there.

Sydney, NSW, Australia

I present Penryth, Sydney in New South Wales state on the east coast of Australia and also my first home in Australia. This Australian state is known for its diverse landscapes, vibrant cities, and rich history.

For me, the Great Dividing Range, a mountain range that includes the Blue Mountains and the Snowy Mountains, is famous for skiing and hiking. I have spent a lot of time in both places.

I built my first home in Penrith CBD of Sydney, from where I have made many boat trips to the Sydney Opera House and the Harbour Bridge.

I have taken thousands of pictures of this area, but I am sharing some photos here. Like this famous cultural site.

I have seen many adventure activities here, like surfing, hiking, and opportunities to explore the rainforests along the coast. I would like to say that the combination of natural beauty and cultural richness here gives you an amazing opportunity, which makes it an important part of Australia's identity.

New South Wales is home to many breathtaking natural attractions that showcase its stunning landscapes and diverse ecosystems. Here are some must-see natural wonders. My top choice is Echo Point in the Blue Mountains, where I have done a lot of hiking and enjoyed the Skyway.

I am showing you a photo of a national park that is located in Auburn, Sydney.

I have done a number of New Zealand road trips, which I feel is an unforgettable experience, for watching the stunning landscapes and diverse attractions the country has to offer.

New Zealand, Road Trips

I would love to give you a few images from my 2020 trip to New Zealand, a road trip that started from Queensland Town to Auckland. This region is known for its subtropical climate and beautiful beaches, perfect for water activities and cultural experiences.

We started from Queenstown to Milford and spent 2 days in Fiordland National Park, with panoramic views, glowworm caves, and stunning lakes such as Lake Mistletoe and Mirror Lakes.

This was a wonderful drive for its scenery and outdoor adventures. We spent a week here before handing over the car to the agency at Auckland airport and flew back to Sydney.

I would love to drive to the wonderful places such as Hobbiton, Waitomo Caves, and Wellington in New Zealand once I reach Australia starting in February end this year.

You have chosen many wonderful destinations, both local and international. And I know they are very realistic for you, and most probably you may have planned them all, with the details you have included here. Australia and Newzealand are one of my dreamiest countries as well. May be one day.

I will be back in Australia in the last week f Feb or March 1st week if all goes according to my plan and once I am there, there is no stopping. I wish you get a chance to visit your dream places asap, my best wishes!

By the way, my trip to Subathu is postponed due to heavy fog in my area.

Thank you, friend!

Oh sorry to hear about that! Anyway, hope you can reschedule it soon!
